    Hi All,

After spending some time doing some nice keyword research in market samurai and coming up with a fair number of profitable niches with low competition, I though I'd take the time to cross check the numbers in google keyword tool.

Now I'm going to give you the best keyword I found in Market Samurai because I no longer plan to go ahead and use it.

The term "Comforter Sets", according to Market Samurai, gets a total of 110,137 searches per day. It only has 649k competing sites, which although is a relatively high amount, if rank for, you could make some serious traffic, perhaps 50K hits per day. I was shocked when I found this, the top site as it stands is a microniche site, with what I can imagine is about a 10% click through rate. I thought he must make a ton and I'm pretty sure I could knock him off the top.

So as I mentioned I checked the new google keyword too, it comes in at a whopping 12,100 searches a month.

No these are all "exact" matches, I give you the keyword so you can check for yourselfs, I'm not making a mistake (I don't think).

Is it just me who can now no longer use market samurai? This is a stupid difference. Even the trend info in market samurai suggests this is a consitant search volume, yet the google keyword suggests otherwise.

    TLDR version:

    Keyword "Comforter Sets"
Market Samurai Monthly Search volume: 3,304,110
Google Keyword Tool Monthly Search Volums: 12,100

    Anyone any ideas?

    Hi

    I just tested with "
    cervical cancer symptoms"

The traffic volume is in exact match

    Market Samurai 9896 daily = 296880 monthly
Google Keyword Tool = 27100 monthly (Global)

It looks like the amount of traffic in MS is 10 times more.

    Hi guys,

I just found out EXACTLY the same.

I did market research for the last 3 weeks to isolate some niche niche.

Now, due to MS Keyword Tool not working anymore in my locale (i'm not doing research in english language), I had to use the new google adwords tools and i give me really really low numbers !!!!

It's sometimes even more than 10 time less than what MS give me. I also noticed that Micro Niche Finder is also sending back results approximately the same as Market Samurai.

Keyword 1, 3 weeks ago with MS : 33K exact match monthly
Keyword 1, today with the new google adwords tool : 720 exact monthly

For me it's pretty clear that for this keyword, it's more in the 10-20Kplus a month than 1K but i don't understand the difference.

I guess both MS and MNF were sending data from the "legacy" google keyword tool which unfortunately didn't return the same results as the new one.

Very very weird. I don't know what to do with my niches now. I quite stuck and the MS support doesn't really seem to be able to solve my problem so far...

Anyone has this kind of issue ?

    Cheers,

I'm a bit worried about assuming one over the other. I would in fact prefer leaning towards googles numbers as they are more likely to be right about their own systems.

I also noticed that with the old keyword tool, the numbers they reported didnt' seem to be right. I ranked top for a keyword term that was searched 1.5k a month (as an experiment when I was first entering the whole IM thing). I would expect, with 50 searches a day, and a 42% ctr (for being first in google), I expected 20 visitors a day, with some variance obviously. I am lucky to get 1 or 2 a day with this.

With this I would suspect that the old keyword tool, and with it MS, reports greatly inflated numbers.

    Anyone else experience this?

So are you saying you have a newer version and that you get different results? That the old google keyword tool is innacurate and the new one is in fact correct and displayed in the new version?

Market Samurai still using old adword keyword tool data. Google staff stated that old keyword toll data were come from content network (pay per thousand view) and it's the reason why keywords always have much high traffic data.

On the other hand, new Adwords keyword tool has refined with new algorithm which is way more accurate. I know this because I have done some research by comparing both old and new tool data with my niche sites.

    Hope it helps.
