There were many discussions about +1 votes. Some say they don't help in SERPs, some say they do. From my experience - +1's help in SERPs, but only in case +1's are REAL. Bottish votes can be easily traced by Google and 99% they won't help you in rankings. Do you know how Google tracks if vote was real or not? Here are the ways they identify that. 1) Google account. For example, if user's account who +1'd your page is 1 day old, doesn't have any friends, photos, stories, and any other activity, that vote won't help for sure. If user has friends, is active etc. that vote will help. 2) Google +1 button traces, records and sends mouse movement data to Google. If you use chrome, go to the page with +1 button, press F12 to open console, then go to timeline tab and press record button. Then move your mouse on that page and look at mousemove activity. Yeah, it records movement of your mouse. So for example you create a bot which +1s your page. Bots don't use mouse to automate things, so Google will receive data that +1 was received but there were no any mouse movements on the page, seems strange right? How person can +1 page without moving their mouse? And what about SERP improvements for keyword, I think +1s will help for specific keyword if user arrived from Google for specific keyword. Simply, if REAL user navigated from Google for keyword "dog training" and then +1d your page, you will receive positive effects in SERPs for "dog training". So some advice for you guys: 1. Start making Google accounts, adding friends, photos, make them active and make them look real. 2. If you know programming, create bot which simulates random mouse movement, waits some time and only then clicks on +1. Plus, create bot which will navigate from Google with specific keyword and then clicks on +1.
