A federal judge signed an order today that effectively shutdown Limewire - and their whole network is already down. Too bad - it was really convenient for finding and downloading individual songs.

    Code:

Just download your songs off GrooveShark or YouTube. Problem solved.

I use torrents for a lot but Limewire was great for quickly finding and getting music - in less than 30 seconds I could think of a song I wanted, find it, and have it on my computer. With torrents, you have to go to a torrent site, find the torrent (which is usually not an individual mp3, but a whole album) and download the freaking thing. Nothing beat Limewire for convenience for finding music.

A federal judge can say what he likes, it's a P2P world wide network.
    Long live frostwire!
I feel it for the Americans isolating themselves from the rest of the world,
Oh well you get what you vote for or not!
    Byeeeee!

Install Freecorder + toolbar, find song on youtube. Let video load and freecorder will store it in the video history. Select video history and record from the replay and voila! MP3 (see play button to find your song). I like this method because I don't have to worry so much about virus/etc

Good I hated limewire, was full of bs anyways. About time they got pwned.
Just use bearshare, all the files get saved as .wma with a drm license so you can't burn them or play with any other program besides bearshare or windows media player.

All you do is download a program called tunebite, it will convert all them .wma files to .mp3 and remove the drm licensing from it, now allowing you to burn and play them with any music player.

you can download individual songs via torrent np ...

goto album.torrent -> open the .torrent -> find song(s) u want out of album -> select to DL -> get song "in less than 30 seconds"

its faster and if not easier imo

What about Frostwire, is that the same network with Limewire?

edit: for the sake of curiosity I tested Frostwire and it's working. This might be a good alternative for limewire for now
