google has some nice online tutorials. check em out. they're free and you get all the information you'll need to set up working campaigns... but you'll only be good at adwords someday when you've used it for a few months and got some real experience - and this will probably cost you more than any ot the shitty ebooks out there

I hate to say it but for me it was trial and error. Pick a CB product, split test, drop crappy keywords, rinse and repeat.

For me, Perry Marshall's Definite Guide to Google AdWords is, hands down, the best eBook on the subject. Perry's other products on AdWords also kick ass.

Perry knows his stuff. He has specialized in AdWords since Google started the program. He is a no-nonsense business man. He takes teaching seriously. He doesn't over-hype. And his knowledge is solid, tested, based on measurable results and immediately useful.

His products are also reasonably priced.

And, if you want to go the black hat method, you can find most of his stuff for free. Just do some poking around.

I've been through tons and tons of AdWords products and nothing has ever come close to his stuff.

I'm not affiliated with him in any way. Just a big fan.

Apparently google has everything you need to be successful buried in their huge training database. It's there, but they don't want it to be too easy to find lol.

Anything Perry Marshall for the basics. It depends what you are selling. If it's cpa then PayPerClick Formula is good. If it's clickbank/affiliate products Clickbank university is good.

But nothing beats practice. I agree with JBryant - it's all about testing and tweaking. Which unfortunately = time and money. You can read about it, but it's when you do it that the real learning starts. To be successful you really have to track at the keyword level. Diligence, a calculator and a fixed budget and you can't go too wrong.
