We have a client who has a website that is going to rely on regional searches. Unfortunately, the site is streamlined with minimal content. Similar to a gamefly model, so there isnt a ton of indexable content. I believe that the success of the site is going to rely almost solely on backlinks. It has a decent amount already and has a PR of 5. The domain is older, 1999 I think. I am going to focus on getting listed in tons of directories and some interactive link bait. Can anyone recommend some good listings of web directories that arent loaded with bullshit?

Buzzkill l presume that it is one of your PPC clients, it would help if you could give us a primary keyword and a regional one then maybe can come up with some help for you, if you send me a pm with your email address l can send you a little program that finds authority sites to link to.
But it is my job to put campagins together so if l can help holla nicho

No cloaking, everything done for these clients is white hat and on the level. Also, I am slowly easing them back into PPC, they like so many others thought they knew what they were doing and went out and got soaked on general keywords, same story as always. My results are good enough that it will come to that, but right now I am just needing to get as many incoming links as possible. They have quite a few but you can never have too many. I have been checking back links on all related sites and found a ton of directories and possible authority sites so I have a good start. I was interested if anyone had any other methods of finding good places to get sites listed.

This site is unusual in that they just had a redesign done and there is almost no content on the site, so its not going to rank for anything based on the content on the pages, I wish that I had been consulted before the design was done because I would have told them how SE UN-Friendly it is. It's hard to tell someone they just spent 15 grand on what I consider to be a really bad idea. SEO Elite is ok at finding sites but I think there must be something better.

I will post the huge list of directories when I get them all sorted and organized.

Nicho, thanks, I will PM you tonight or tomorrow.

Hi Buzzkill, the same happened to me as l think l mentioned somewhere in a previous post about using website designers that produce great looking websites that cost one of my clients over £5,000 that failed, l knocked up one in notepad for him in about two hours and was making him money on ppc inside an hour so l charged full whack for being an idiot and not using me in the first place, everythings rosy now.

look forward to hearing from you but l do have an idea for you to float past you. regards nicho

I have many designer friends and I caused a bit of a stir when I told them that as far as I was concerned, they were the least valuable part of the equation. The discussion started to turn into an argument, I brought up craigslist and google and that was the end of it.
