I hope it's ok to ask this here. I'm constantly editing video footage, most of it at night. During this i got to the conclusion that I need a really good pair of headphones, but, they must have a cord long enough to connect to the computer and still not too big to use on the street.

Any suggestion? How did the guys who edit footage dealt with this?

    Thank you!

if you're to edit video, you're going to need an intro level monitoring headphones.

try purchasing an AKG k240 studio headphones. i use them to mix audio. nice, detailed response.

the only downside is you're going to need a headphone amplifier to be able to "drive" them properly. although your pc/laptop soundcard will be able to drive them, the headphones will not be that loud unless you're in a very quiet room (the headphones are 55 ohms.. normal headphone/earphones only have an 8-10 ohm impedance).

    hope this helps.

Yes this. I went to school for sound engineering and use headphones all the time. I love Sennheiser, don't go for beats it's over-rated. If you want a pair on the cheaper side, I'm not usually into Sony's but I love the MDR-V6's, quality headphones for $100. But for Senn I like the HD 650 but they're around $440.

Sennheiser HD 598 are also great and around $240. Can't go wrong with Sennheiser most times.

Beats are overrated for the price. Sennheiser has consistently been a very good brand of headphones and for your line of work you should probably lean towards them. However, if you are cash strapped Bose headphones are really good quality headphones and you can find a good deal online somewhere.

In the end, I ended up buying some JVC XX for about 20$, decided to invest less money in this as I would be throwing money out the window, so far, they are the best I ever had, I would say their bass is very deep and crisp, they are also very loud. They isolate the noise pretty well and if they last me at least six months, then they would be really worth it

    Thank you

Everything is fine aslong as you dont get ripped off by "beats".
