    I found a keyword. here's the stats...

Google keyword tool says: 8,000 exact usa searches per month. competition is nil (no green at all, I didn't look at exact number but I would say 0.01)

Traffic Travis says: 4 stars, relatively easy. All the sites in the top 20 are massive (over 80 million backlinks each) but the pages themself have under 100 backlinks.

Google search in quotes: 1.5 million results.

And that's when I stoped and said, wait....how can this keyword be relatively easy and have no competition but there are 1.5 million results??? I was expecting like 30k, or maybe 50k not 1.5 million.

Is TT calling it 4 stars because the pages themselves have very few backlinks?

There are a few MFA and amazon sites under this keyword too with over 2,500 backlinks but they are on page 3. If it was so easy to rank why are they on page three and all these massive sites filling page one and two?

Is this a great keyword, or am I just fooling myself here?

Here's a screenshot of Traffic Travis

What you gave to us is not enough information. Show us a SS of the top 10 from TT (With the websites crossed out).

you know that the keyword tool competition is not your competition right ;) your competition is the one showing when you use MS or TT.

I see a lot of PR in those results. Granted PR doesn't always equal a first page listing, but it might be an uphill battle.

Then again I'm the kinda person to just do it and see what happens. :)

lol ofc. It's just referrence. If a lot of people are bidding for the keyword, then I assume it's popular. If no one wants to even pay for it, then chances are it will be easier to score for. It's just my way of narrowing down the first 20 or so keywords under a main keyword I want to score for before I run them through TT and MS. I could be totally wrong.

It looks like a keyword that I would go after. It costs less than 10 bucks for the dot com. give it a try. Bust ass on it and see where it goes. Best of luck!

the little competition that you are referring to shows me that the cpc is crap. so you might get a lot of traffic, but the cpc may be really low. something to look out for.

it's cheap enough, but I don't want to waste two weeks of my time chasing a keyword that I'll never score for. At 4 hours a day for two weeks, times $20 an hour it will cost actually about $1,120 :) Time is money my friend.

I got around to running MS on the keyword. I added the screen shot above. I'll throw it in here too. I guess what's really worrying me is the number of backlinks these sites have. I don't see how else they are ranking so high.
