    Hello guys,

Well, I'm a guy with big dreams. i always dreamed about the ultimate project that will make me able to generate 10k+/mo but actually I'm having a tough time taking some decisions here and I'm in a serious need of your help .

I have a website in a very hot niche, and yeah hot means competitive ... the main keyword have 1,850,000 results in quotation, but it's getting a HUGE amount of searches every day and i know that if i can make it to the first page my dream actually may easily become a reality,

My problem is actually I'm afraid to go for this keyword and put all my energy and effort and budget on it then after 4 or 5 months find my self in the middle of nowhere with no results ... and end up wasting lots of effort and money and more importantly TIME,

Now i need your guidance and advice and pleas based on experience only, is 1,850,000 results really that big of a number ?? can i make it if i dedicate 3 hours a day everyday for the next 4-5 months ??

one important thing is that a new domain has been registered in the same month as mine and now he make it to the first page and last week he was ranking no.2 ... so I've seen people doing it but i still don't have the enough courage to do it . i don't know why actually ...

So my maine quetion is, can i make it to the first page and maybe no.2 or 1 spot for a keyword that have 1,850,000 results in quotation ?? or i'll be just wasting my time ?

    Advice needed ASAP,

    Thanks,

What choice do you have if you already spent all your money on this one project?

Here is what I can tell you...

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. I learned this lesson a long time ago as I went from making 1k a day to zero a day. If I had spread it out I would be ok. You are setting yourself up for either a great payoff or failure. I would rather set myself up for a chance to have many smaller paydays that add up to the big one. This one if one leg gets chopped out from under me I am still ok and walking.

My advice would be spend something like 10-20% of your time on this site a day. Then figure out how to spend the rest of your time on a bunch of other endeavors. Lately what I am finding out is the things I think will make me a ton actually make me very little. It is the things that I think will make me tiny amounts that are actually making me decent coin.

Now to get back to your point on your 1,800,000 "keyword" competitors. This may prove to be difficult. However just because you have many "kw" competitors doesn't mean they are really competitors. It just means google has indexed them for the reason they have that in their page somewhere. So really you can probably eliminate over 90% of those sites. Still though this will be difficult to show up well. First thing I like to do is see who is in top 10. Are they big sites like amazon, ebay, cnn, etc. If so they will be much harder to overcome. If they are just random sites it will be a little easier. Other than this I can't comment much.

Use something like M Samurai to survey your competitors. Analyze first page results, look at how many/quality backlinks they have, their seo structure, etc. That should give you a little more insight as to what it will take to get up there.

Man, this is exactly what i'm doing ! i'm using m samurai and i'v done what you said already and i digged deep inside the backlinks of people who are in the front page and obviosly non of them are authority sites and the older one of them is just 3 years old . and most of them got there by doing massive forum posting and blog commenting and article submiting and buying links from bloggers ....

like player says dont put all your eggs in one basket, but I like to have one big fish with serious compettion I go after just for kicks.

1850 000 is not too many and I would not be scared at all, hell I launched a new site for the wii market with 88,000 000 competititors and ranked on page one with no effort.

Search your KW using allintitle:your-keyword-here and see how many competiitors are here, as this will show you your real competition, if this is under 6K then go for it anything around 5K can be dominated in about 1 month.

Also look at who your competitors are, if they are auth sites then maybe think again.

    good luck

well the result of allintitle of my keyword is 1,430,000 results which is even less then the 1 800 000 and no , non of my compititors are auth sites all of them are affiliates with domains between 1 and 3 years old max .

No efforte ?? oh come on ....

I've been conquering 189,000,000 and even 333,000,000 competition keywords before. All on my own, without investing a penny into SEO. I would say its definitely doable. The only bad news is that it took me almost a year to get there.

Go for it! If you don't take action, you fail as an IM. If your project fails, you are one step closer to being successful.

:):):):) liked the last quote, and here it is with an other order : When it seems impossible, when it seems like nothing is going to work, you're usualy just a few millimeters away from making it happen. -anthony Robbins

do you mean that it took you a year to rank for your 33mil and 189mil keywords or you was talking about my 1,8mil ??

    Thanks,

Cool, glad you like it. Took me 20 minutes to come up with that :)

No, I think your ETA is just about right. I was talking about my own projects.

Sadly I sold one of the sites and the other one is not for profit. So I don't really have a consistent income from this.

    Anyhow, good luck!
