    Here's part of the email

... If we do not receive the requested documentation within the next 48 hours, your order(s) may be cancelled for your protection.

I don't want to submit this info

    What should I do?

Tell them to fuck off and find a real host / registrar. Godaddy sucks. I've had 300+ domains seized by godaddy in one fell swoop.

Cancelled 'for your protection'? You should ask them in what possible way that 'protects' you. Well... why don't you want to give it? You can anonymize the registration later. Else, use a different registrar.

    Photo ID? WTF?

So now they are also into pics? lol

Giving GD the finger was one of the best things i did in my career. Id rather pay $9 at name.com then get a free one at GD.

Man those guys suck like a vacumecleaner...

The point is that identification is only one form of authentication, but corporate polices (and government regulations) increasingly want it to be the only acceptable form of authenticating an account, precisely because it DOESN'T protect you. Notice they want all of YOUR direct details, but you have no details about individuals at GD? Get it? You get no privacy (where YOU can withhold the release of your ID from everybody, including to GD), but they get theirs. Go to a registrar that respects your full rights to anonymity, or at least is even-Steven about it ("you don't know ours, so we don't have to know yours").
