I recently purchased hosting and a couple domains from godaddy. Tonight, while sat here at the computer I received 4 emails from godaddy. These were emails confirming I had issued a refund on my purchase from my hosting and domain names and a receipt showing all money refuned !!!
I called support and billing, both departments have no idea what happened, they can't tell me why the refund was issued, who issued it, or anything else. They said the issue has been passed on and I will recieve a email within 24-36 hours !!! I tried and tried to get a better answer but nothing. I said I wanted to speak to the deprtment who will be handling this issue, but apparntly they don't have telephones.....YET, they took my telephone # in case they needed to contact me. The sites were poker/gambling landing pages. And now, instead of my pages being shown, GODADDYS parked pages are shown with casino/poker links !!!!!!!!

lol fuck godaddy. Why would you ever use them? worst service in the world.
HOSTGATOR = never had a problem. im pretty sure most people here use them.
or namedcheap

Yep me too
Had the same thing happen 3 weeks ago
no explanation - nothing
bye bye GD

I have 5 domains on godaddy which are renewing on a monthly basis via my mastercard credit cards but a few weeks days ago, I received an automated noticed that the c.cards that I am using is expiring or reach the limit. For short, they cannot bill me. So what i did is inputted by another visa card and via paypal but still I cannot complete the renewals. I called the credit card company and told me that there is no problem with card. To test my Paypal, I made a purchase from an online store, and the sale was completed.

Up to now there is still no reply from godaddy. Maybe its time for a switch.

Just to share my experience.

Thanks

Godaddy sucks big time...

I never use their hosting..but their control panel is too confusing. I do but my all domains through them but I also heard that Godaddy can take over your domain if you they get complained about your domain..

Im using godaddy for a couple of years, domains only though, burned my fingers on their different reseller offers, 400 some dollars, however I never had any problems at all..

Im moving to domains by proxy, recomended by a friend..

I bought all my domains from godaddy because it's extremely cheap there compared to other domain vendors. On top of that, if you can get a coupon code you can have the best deal in town. However, Just always hit the next buttons when buying your domain to stay away from buying those useless extras.

I am trying to transfer all my sites from godaddy's hosting to my new server. I called them and asked what would be the easiest way and they had no clue how to do it. Usually you can just go into root of the new server and do a transfer from server to server, But godaddy doesnt seem to offer that. They definitely want to make it hard to change hosts.

Anyone know the easiest way to transfer sites with databases to a new server? I tried ftp but I keep timing out trying to download the files.

I never understood why someone would buy hosting from godady

You should always have separate accounts in domains and hosting. Buy your domain in one place and host it on another. Godaddy and other big registers make it easy for people to accept their upsell, which is hosting.

Get hosting from a company that dedicates to it, in this way you could have avoided this and many other horror stories I've read on the web.

I buy my domains on namecheap and point the DNS to my webhost's servers where I have my websites. Don't have all your eggs on the same basket or so the english saying goes.

Great people! I would use them time and time again

Because of the cool superbowl commercials:D

They are good for cheap domains since you don't need much support but can call 24hrs if you do need help.

I have talked to people that work there who told me they win all kinds of prizes for selling people crap they don't need. They have employees that don't know crap about support, they just want to upsell.

I have used hostgator for a few years as well and the cpanel is much better and a lot more features than what you will get with godaddy.
