okay, so I bought a few domains a couple of days ago.

One being dealership-sites.com for a direct mail campaign I am going to run in a few months.

It has been 4 days, and the domain has still not resolved and is still showing a godaddy parked page.

I contacted godaddy, they said its my hosts fault, and a I contacted hostgator and they said it had something to do with godaddy.

This whole thing has me going crazy.

    Hey,
It could be your ISP's fault too. However, you could try testing the method below if you are on windows.

    1) Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

    2) Open hosts in notepad or something.

    3) Put something like

    Code:
    xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx DOMAIN.COM
You might have to restart your computer after doing this.

Basically, it will force your machine to connect to that IP address when your domain is called regardless of the domain propagation.

This will at least let you get started quickly.

Try changing the nameservers for it in the Godaddy control panel, and make sure it says they are valid because from a quick look the domain still points to GoDaddy's nameservers.

Check hostgator support for what you should change the nameservers to.

Thats what I cant understand, I have the nameservers changed to what I always use, but it still goes to godaddy nameservers.

open up the command window and type in ipconfig /flushdns that should do the trick.

lol, dont use godaddy domains when your mailing, at LEAST use namecheap, hostgator will probably suspend you with a single complaint too

welcome to the world of picking the 2 crappiest options for your campaign!

Direct mail as in snail mail. Website hosting and building for car dealerships.

I have $9,000 or "free" online marketing incentives that I secured for them from"other companies" (wink) to help them sell cars online

And I actually like hostgator. Godaddy on the other hand.....

You have to watch Godaddy very carefully when your domains come up for renewal.
I put a lot of mine on manual and still they renew them.
