im looking at building a website and flipping it. godaddy lets you buy a domain for only 99 cents. not sure how they can do this, but is t here any problem trying to transfer it to someone else within a week?

    also, what is the process?

You can "push" not "transfer" it to someone else that has a godaddy account.

Just click "more" in your domain control panel and chose "change accounts" or something like this. You will need the receiver e-mail address and godaddy ID.

so the person would have to buy hosting through godaddy and be a customer first right? or if they have another host provider already i would just have them release it somehow?

the hosting has nothing to do with the domain name.after you "push" the domain name to the other godaddy account , just go to control panel in godaddy, select the domain and click "Nameservers" and point the domain to the nameservers of the hosting you want.

For the domain ownership "transfer" (domain push), particularly when it's newly registered (less than 60 days old), just ask for their godaddy account and push it to that. If they don't have one, they must create a free one. Done.

When it comes to "transferring" the website files; if they don't have a web hosting account with godaddy they don't necessarily need one, as long as you make sure the dynamic part (if any) of the website will work flawlessly at their new host (PHP, MySQL, etc.). After that it's just a matter of updating the DNS with godaddy to point to the new web hosting service.

That pretty much sums things up.
