For some of us (large quantity domain holders), GoDaddy has completely strong-armed us... But, there's still some hope (kinda).

Yes, there's other domain registrars out there but sometimes paying (although not fun) can be more efficient.

IF, you are with GoDaddy and OWN more than 9 domain names then it mathematically makes sense to pay (yes, I hate saying this) for their DDC.

For example (as of July 4th 2014):

    Renewal .COM with DDC is $8.47 ($8.29 + $0.18) * 9 = $76.23
    Regular renewal price $15.17 ($14.99 + $0.18) * 9 = $136.53

$136.53-76.23= $60.30... This number shows the difference in savings of an individual purchasing 9 domain names.

    ---------------------------

The coupon code cjc35newc provides a 35% coupon off new products; such as... GoDaddy's DDC!

Retail of the DDC program is:

    One year: $7.50/month*12months = $90
    Two years: $6.75/month*24months = $162
Three years or more: $6/month*12months = $216 (3 year example)

With the code mentioned above, the DDC Program comes out to:

    One year: $4.875/month*12months = $58.5
    Two years: $4.3875/month*24months = $105.3
Three years or more: $3.9/month*12months = $140.4 (3 year example)

    ---------------------------

As you can see, the coupon provides a break-even point for those that have MORE than 9 domains. Mathematically, you save money when you buy domain #10.

Again, this is for people that don't want to deal with transferring high quantity of domains with the risk of DNS changing or other headaches. Am I mad at GoDaddy? Sure, but I've also used A LOT of $1 coupons in the past so I still think I'm ahead of their price bumps and DDC.

This is how big companies do marketing...they buy their low key presence in forums as well, not just huge ads during Superbowl.
We can all learn from this post, we can use it as a template as well, just change names and numbers, and you can target any group

    You're implying that I'm a GoDaddy rep?

Wouldn't there still be an additional cost of $8 to $10 per domain for "Privacy Protection"?

Something like that, yes. So unless you're running GD with either fake or business information (or just don't care), it's not worth it.

Right... Well, I'm not. At least post something beneficial to the thread instead of posting accusations.

If anything, you should read through my previous posts on the forum to gather information to backup your statement.

This thread was created for members that have clients or don't need to hide anything; therefore there's no need for "Privacy Protection."

Tell me why the math above makes it "not worth it."

I understand some of you hate GoDaddy (perhaps due to your location or lack of support) but I really have nothing to complain about. All I've used them for was the purchasing of domains. Thanks to various BHW members, I've gotten ALL OF MY DOMAINS for less than $3-5 on every transaction. It sucks that they removed coupons for renewals and what not but I already saved money from the initial purchase of the domain names.

Just here trying to help... Argue over the math all you want. But of course people always have something to complain about.

Godaddy\s not bad.. pisses me off no renewal coupons, was one of the reasons I switched. Namecheap sucks! I had hundreds of domains and was limited with bulk actions. I tried to bulk update dns or something basic like that and couldn't do it. It was easier for me to manually transfer each domain to godaddy than manually updating the dns. Their support was garbage too. Bunch of noobs.
