For some of us (large quantity domain holders), GoDaddy has completely strong-armed us... But, there's still some hope (kinda). Yes, there's other domain registrars out there but sometimes paying (although not fun) can be more efficient. IF, you are with GoDaddy and OWN more than 9 domain names then it mathematically makes sense to pay (yes, I hate saying this) for their DDC. For example (as of July 4th 2014): Renewal .COM with DDC is $8.47 ($8.29 + $0.18) * 9 = $76.23 Regular renewal price $15.17 ($14.99 + $0.18) * 9 = $136.53 $136.53-76.23= $60.30... This number shows the difference in savings of an individual purchasing 9 domain names. --------------------------- The coupon code cjc35newc provides a 35% coupon off new products; such as... GoDaddy's DDC! Retail of the DDC program is: One year: $7.50/month*12months = $90 Two years: $6.75/month*24months = $162 Three years or more: $6/month*12months = $216 (3 year example) With the code mentioned above, the DDC Program comes out to: One year: $4.875/month*12months = $58.5 Two years: $4.3875/month*24months = $105.3 Three years or more: $3.9/month*12months = $140.4 (3 year example) --------------------------- As you can see, the coupon provides a break-even point for those that have MORE than 9 domains. Mathematically, you save money when you buy domain #10. Again, this is for people that don't want to deal with transferring high quantity of domains with the risk of DNS changing or other headaches. Am I mad at GoDaddy? Sure, but I've also used A LOT of $1 coupons in the past so I still think I'm ahead of their price bumps and DDC.
