So, I've just noticed all my (and luckly) my competitors info (full name, address, phone) is revealed in the whois database (ive registered my domain with godaddy). Also, I've done a little research and there is an option to use a private registration, but it costs 9,99$ a year (lol!). At namecheap it is 7 bux for 5 domains (double lol).

So I guess I will be moving my domains to namecheap.. Although I think it would be smart to ask you guys if you know other options :)

PS: WHY AM I DOING THIS? ITS BECAUSE WHEN I GOOGLE MY COMPETITORS NAME OR EMAIL ADDRESS + WHOIS I CAN SEE THEIR OTHER WEBSITE (AND THEIR NICHES)!

I hope this will be helpful for the community :) also for stealing niches hehehe.

It's nothing new. It's here since 1985 when the first domain registered.

You can use Netfirms, 1&1 or internet.bs for free whois.

Ok, but the point that I want to make is that you can spy on your competition this way, as atleast in my niche no one has hidden their whois info.
Also, what do you mean by free whois?

You can also just go into your whois info and put fictitious info in there for free... as an alternative!

Dumb people write as you did.

Smart people use their real info to protect their domains and use Private whois services to protect their privacy.

Have you seriously only just discovered whois?

For some of my domains, I really don't give a stuff that my real info is on there.
For my main business sites - it's cool, all adds to the legit image of the business.
For other stuff, it's either hidden or not quite accurate info ;)
