I am going to sell an ebook through my website and fixing a target of 1000 sales per year. The ebook covers twitter related concepts for newbie's.

I am fixing the price something around $40 and my target to sell atleast 100 copies per month.

As twitter is well known marketing tool many of us doing good with twitter to promote our things.

But here i want to be concentrate on newbies to reach my goal of 1000 copies.

    My queries are:

Will it be achievable with this ebook for newbies?

How to target and different marketing strategies?

I need all your positive response and support. But one thing i have to go with this ebook only because once i decided there is no back step. I have to make it successful by reaching 1000 copies goal.

Hoping good suggestions from you all...

    Thanks in advance...

100 copies per month? at 40$ each? good luck dude, you must be a super internet marketer to do that..
ebooks are not a good idea if you want to sell a lot of copies... your ebook will be in rapidshare/torrents in a heart beat...

most ebooks in DP has 5 - 10 - 20 or even 30! sales, and thats it, IMO if you want to sell 1k copies you must write a GREAT EBOOK with A LOT of usefull and unique information, and you have to do A LOT of marketing

No, definitely not. Ebooks are garbage and most people know it. There are just way too many out there, and the only way to set yours apart from the rest is if you're a big name known marketer. Honestly, you'd be lucky to get more than 100 copies total.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but I really don't see any ebook doing that well.

IamKing don't listen to the negative comments. If your ebook is worth the price then people will buy it. But keep in mind what someone mentioned above; it has to be worth $40, otherwise you won't meet your goal.

Also, setting it at exactly $40 is not so good. I've read several studies about which numbers/prices are more attractive to potential customers. I think that $37 would get you more sale. To prove my point, go to Clickbank and you will see that a lot of the prices end with the number "7" such as 17, 27, 37, 97 and so on.

Again, that's if the ebook is worth that much so I hope you've done some market analysis to find out.

    Good luck with the sales.

Target your ebook for people who are less capable in finding stuff on rapidshare and such (females etc.). That will help a bit.

Yeah, that will definitely aid in reducing sharing but I don't think a lot of them(females) will purchase. You may want to offer an oppurtunity for affiliates to promote your products or best still offer a JV here or on a marketing forum like the warrior forum, etc so people can't promote it.

Also, I would opt for a price like $47 or $49 if I were you(depending on your copywriting skills)

    I hope this helps.

EDIT: As someone said above, twitter products are on the high side so you definitely know that this means more competition, If you know anything about SEO you should optimize your site for the highest rankings possible. Have you thought about PPC? I see no one here is suggesting that.

    Good Luck with your Sales

Ebooks are still dam profitable. Even when they are shared. 100 sales a month at $40 is very real if you know how to market your ebook.

Yea most ebooks have that many sales on DP. Because most of the people selling on there think they are great internet marketers because they can find an ebook in the Downloads section on here and then sell it on DP.
A few months ago before the DP BST update I sold an ebook at $50 and made well over 100 sales from DP alone.

Its all about psychology skills. You either have it, or you don't.

The two obstacles that I see with your goal is:

1)Your product is Twitter (People are getting tired of it, and only a few people have actually made money with twitter, since it's seems to be pretty hard)

2)$40 is a very high price to sell your ebook if you are not well known. The price to go for should be $17. Remember it's a numbers game, so if 5 people buy out of 100 your $17 ebook you'll make $85.

To market an ebook to get 100 sales a month i wouldn't be suprised if spend a huge amount of cash. I doubt you've done your research and got figures for all of this?

I would go as far as to say it isn't worth it, but you never know.

Have a go, see what happens. If you come out in the red when you've got all your bills to pay, don't say we didn't tell you!

If you would sell an ebook, that relates to a crowd thats not very internet savvy, then possibly you could sell about 100 in a month.
But since you want to sell 1000 e-books about twitter marketing, you need to have a huge tagetted emailing list.

    to answer your "$17, $27, $37, $47 ..... why 7!!!!"
this is what the internet marketers tell from what they have experienced after trying different price points. this is what worked the best for them.we needn't to re-invent the wheel,or do we ?. for example ryan deiss has mentioned the same pricing strategy in " continuity blueprint". hope the above is clear.

I think your price is on the high side, do you want to have more sales at a lower price? Or a few sales at the higher price? The choice is yours, good luck to you!

Well, guy, you lose here only!! If you need just positive responses, better ask your parents, or siblings. No Success without criticism.

    Yes, this is achievable!
Dont keep concentrated to noobx. Make it for pros too. For eg. If you write 100 pages in your guide, kepp 40 pages for pros. Those pages should have "Found nowhere else" info.
Article marketing, link exchanges, WSO will help you reach your goal...

If you have a good, rather very good, sales letter, you will achieve this goal really very quickly!!

I totally think this is an achievable goal... and the truly great thing about your ebook is - it's timely! It's the perfect time to come out with an ebook about Twitter, especially with the heated political atmosphere of today...

I learned (early this morning) that there are actually "Twitter Consultants" being hired by members of Congress (and other politicians). Can you believe that? Twitter Consultants!

I haven't read your ebook, so I don't really know what it says... However, I think that your market could be newbies (people who haven't started tweeting), to people who have started tweeting and are looking for tips to make their tweets more effective.
    - An example of this would be the NYT's criticism of some of the politician's tweets - Politicians want to connect with their constituents, and sometimes their tweets are really way off base.

If you can include examples of really good tweets and really bad tweets - for different goals, occupations, etc - I think that that would be a really huge draw.

Again, I totally think you can do well with this one, best of luck!
