What do you think of the idea that maybe google trusts sites registered and hosted by go daddy more due to their PR7 status? Go Daddy better for serp's?

Godaddy, and other domain registrars, are HOSTS, and REGISTRARS. Your website is not linked from their website.
So the answer is no, their PR7 status will not help you, or in away relate to your website because it is hosted there.
Domain--> Host --->yourwebsite ---> <---PRsites

indexing has nothing to do with the domain registrar, it has to do with getting your website link out on the internet.

go to pingler.com (free or pay service) and ping your site for fastest
indexing - you can also use pingomatic.
crreate your linking blogs, micro sites, whatever and ping them too - and boom,

Nirose - isnt the domain prviacy registration FREE on all domains when you purchase 5 or more at one time - not sure if still offering that or if it applies to the cheap domains -
obvioulsy they suck you in with 1.99 reg and then - oh yeah - another 9. for privacy
