    Hi guys,

I received this message from godaddy

Dear Customer, We have received a complete DMCA notification alleging that copyright infringement is taking place on your hosted site. This notification was submitted pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and GoDaddy?s Copyright Infringement Policy, which can be found here: https://www.godaddy.com/agreements/showdoc.aspx?pageid=TRADMARK_COPY In accordance with this policy, as well as the hosting agreement you consented to upon purchase of the service, we have suspended this hosting account. We appreciate your business, but due to the nature of the website and the scope of the infringement claim that we've received, we have no choice but to terminate your use of our hosting services for this website. Pursuant to our policy, this suspension is permanent and there are no reactivation options available. Please understand that as a web hosting provider, we are not able to make legal determinations as to who is right or wrong in an infringement claim. We have included the original complaint we received (below) regarding this matter to help you identify the claimed infringing content. Let us know if you have any other questions at this time. Kindest Regards, Chris Copyright Department Go Daddy Operating Company, LLC [email protected]

I had an automatic posting plug in on a wordpress site of mine, and it obviously posted something godaddy did not like.

I was given NO opportunity to rectify the situation, godaddy just banned ALL of my hosting, for 75 domains I have.

I did appeal and then they offered to reinstate the hosting then changed their mind again.

    Any advice?

I HAD back ups of my site, but they were kept on the hosting, and I cant even access that through FTP.

    ANY help gratefully accepted,

    Thanks

Godaddy is known to pull stunts like this and you chose to stay with them. Plus you had to make a backup of the files and db somewhere else regularly. You failed to do that as well.

i guess you learn and move on. I don't think Godaddy cares much about customers and less about sites with autoblogs.

The program owner contacted GoDaddy. Are you using a nulled program? If yes, all of the callbacks were not removed.

    1. crap stunts like that are why i left hostgator. they also shut down accounts for no reason!

    2. keeping backups on your domain makes no sense. they should be downloaded to your disk drive and to your backup disk drive. you can also use cloud storage for good measure.

do you make backups of the files on your hdd?

Something similar happened to a friend of mine. Big companies like Godaddy or Hostgator would simple ban the user even without giving time to clear stuff. Thought we do give them permission to that when we agree to their TOS. This is why it's better using smaller but professional company which will give you time to sort things out rather than shoot first and ask questions later.

It's unfair they ban all your domains rather than just one which related to the problem. Anyway I think it's better talk to get and try to get a full backup. Good luck.

This sounds really frustrating, but another way a lot of people avoid this kind of situation is not to scale a project to that size unless and until they've overcome most of the primary obstacles with a model. Obviously 75 domains is way too many to be interlinking them when hosting tons of scraped content, or otherwise using questionable themes or plugins that phone home without proper licenses.

You definitely should move on to another host, but you should consider if you can accomplish the same or similar content distribution goals in a somewhat more legitimate manner so you can avoid the situation happening again in the future. Don't get me wrong man. I think many of us have been there, so I really do feel your pain - particularly if it's financial in nature.

Hope things get back on track for you soon!

75 domains. Wow. That's a hard hit, fellow IMer. I hope you sort everything out with them and at least get the domains back. Switch to other server providers man.
