I'm using godadd*y for my autoblogs both domains and hosting. They have suspended my account a while ago for using too many resources from their shared database system.
Now they did it again because they received a complaint from someone for copyrighted content.
Did anyone encounter the same problems with this company?
Should I move somewhere else ? Can they do something if I buy only the domains but host somewhere else ? They will still receive complaints but they won't be able to disable the hosting.

    Thanks

Yeah GoDaddy is pretty much the most restrictive major host available. Like you say, keep your domains there, but get hosting somewhere else. HostGator seem to be quite liked for autoblogs, perhaps consider a reseller account and spread those blogs over a few IPs.

I hate goddady, I use to buy domains from them but they are totally non-user-friendly and sometimes features like redirecting dont even work plus they are over priced. Plus their check out process sucks. I definitely would not use their hosting either.. Now I use name cheap for domains.

If you do anything other that whitehat then do not use godaddy. Not to mention the fact there is a lot of things that you can't do with godaddy hosting you can do with most other webhosts

    Never use Godaddy!

I used them at the beginning cos' they were cheap.

You know the routine of comparing and working out who offered the most GB and what was free.... Godaddy sucks you in.
They catch you on the whois privacy renewal and a pain to transfer domain from.Their Whois is on a separate site!

I've only one domain left on G, only because they have a catch-all email that I use for testing.

Their databases are slowwwwww - even for a simple wp blog.
They are not for us marketers.

Try Hostgator or even namecheap hosting.... but try to keep domains and hosting separate. Don't fall for the free domain.

I used to have a reseller with Hostgator - unnecessary expense... unless you are going to sell space to clients, offering free websites gig.

Get shared hosting - I got a 3 year coupon discount deal.

    Tried 1&1, webfusion, UK2... all a pain.

With namecheap even if you renew domains a week late you can retreive it using the "reactivate" option. Just did one today. The site was INSTANTLY back online!
Spread your blogs with different accounts and providers.
May be someone has experience with Dreamhost and others... whether they have cPanel or not.

Personally I would avoid any host that advertizes in magazines... they are solely for the punters.

In the past I was in to Drupal and got the 'fastest webspace in the world' - they were crap too! Wasted 12 months! Took everything off it and moved sites to Hostgator.

You never get a perfect host - when Hostgator were updating Mysql and PHP some scripts just failed with the 'global on/off' requirement.

    Happy hunting.

on strictly the domain side, has anyone ever gotten a domain itself banned or suspended due to bh activity? and if so, did they go at all the domains in the account or just that one?

Godaddy is one of the worst hosts around. They cripple your ability to run software. Follow the advice in this thread and find another host. Hostgator is good, I use them for many domains. So is Futurehosting. Google both those names together and you'll come up with some webmaster threads that'll give you an idea of how they are and some other good ones--and probably some discount codes or deals too.

I agree on Name Cheap for domain registration too.

godaddy has the cheapest domain names after using their coupons. But I host with Bluehost, Hostmonster and Dream Host. Just be careful with your autoblogs not running too many scrappers that will cause cpu spikes.

Agreed, I feel like namecheap and hostgator are the best overall package. I wouldn't use Godaddy for anything remotely related to BH. lol for that matter I'd never use them anyway.

NEVER use godaddy unless you want to be screwed twice over...both for myself and clients one of the worst I have come across...

They refused to give me a transfer code (be warned) then they pissed me around for months, always had an excuse and that I just had to wait longer, and in the meantime they sold my domain -yeah I can now buy it back from some invisible company for $1500...kinda like blackmail if you ask me...

I actually have never had any problems with godaddy. I have a VPS through them and no problems within the last year!

    Godaddy suck on resources.

If you want to use autoblogs, make sure your host allows at least 25 open MySQL connections and has a decent amount of RAM allocated to you.

The worst hosts for autoblogs are:

    1. godaddy
    2. dreamhost
    3. bluehost & hostmonster

I've tried autoblogs with them and switched hosting within 1-2 months.
