Can I take advantage of the fact that gmails hide the ip, when you send straight from gmail and not through their SMTP?

Sending from Gmail from gmail.com will show google ip on the receivers end
Sending from gmail SMTP will show my ip on the receivers end.

I could sure send a lot of emails using googles ip, but how would I scale that up since I can't use gmail SMTP's?

I'm using craigslist mailer and am having trouble finding a way to keep my ip private, can't seem to find quality, low priced proxies.
