Wow, this thread took an unexpected turn. Yeah, when I titled my thread "RIP joe rogan," I didn't mean that he is dead, I meant that he sold out -> in translation meanings he is rip/dead to me.
I can't believe anyone listens to him to begin with but he has a huge following so maybe I am out of touch.
I'll adjust the title as it is a tad off.
Yes, that's what I meant, thanks for the title adjustment.
Stupid misleading title.
The guy said something that was incorrect so he made a 1 min. video setting things straight.... and you make a stupid thread implying he is dead. What's wrong with you?!
Sure, the title was a little clickbaity and misleading, but it's not a big deal. The moment you open the thread and see my post you realize I wasn't saying he is dead. And if you didn't realize it, then what's wrong with you?!
Joe Rogan says something that's incorrect in every podcast. He talks a lot, and he says things, never with an intention to hurt or offend somebody. He's never issued any apologies in the past. He doesn't claim to be the all knowing guy that's done extensive research on every word that comes out of his mouth. He's not a journalist, he's a bro. You know, grab the women by the pussy
We know he makes mistakes, he's human, we like him for it and think it's kinda funny. But we also like the fact that he is unapologetic and no one controls him, and he has said so and taken pride in that fact many times over the years!
But now, he said the move to Spotify will not change anything about his podcast. First he didn't move all of his podcasts to Spotify, and it was a red flag for me, but I figure let's give it time for him to move and for the dust to settle. But now he's issuing apologies? For what? I don't even know the exact reason but apparently he said people (plural) were arrested for arson when it was in fact 1 person. WHO CARES? It's not apology worthy! And I even saw Youtube comments of people saying there is in fact more than 1 person arrested, and I believe that because America has been burning non-stop for 4 months now. So even his stupid fucking cringey apology is invalid, because he may have not been wrong.
He just bent the knee and decided to let his new masters and the outraged snowflakes grab him by the balls. That's not the joe rogan we know and love : (
He's a Dumbass. But hey he finds his kind to listen to him.
And I quite simply think Spotify won't give a shit if some small little crumb is thinking they are the worst "social network" --> they are music streaming not something ppl go to socialize primarily.
Sure he's a dumbass, he says so himself
Of course, he's not actually a dumbass, he's just humble like that.
But it's not about him. He has people literally from all walks of life on his podcast. So him being a dumbass or not doesn't matter. He conducts good interviews with all sorts of intelligent and stupid and interesting and crazy and educated and uneducated people, and it's a nice variety of topics to listen to. He asks good questions, he lets people talk, and he injects some good humor in the conversations, and it's all good.
I don't know what "his kind" is. His kind is irrelevant because it's not about him, it's about his guests.
They're all social networks to me. Poteto, potato... tometo, tomato...
I don't listen to him, or any celebs really. I hear he makes a lot of people squeal and screech tho
I've watched his 4-5 short clips. It seemed that he is open to all ideas and gives platform to every voice regardless their opinion ro discussion topic is sane or insane.
I liked those clips because nobody get silenced to convey their opinion in his podcast.
I haven't listened to his podcast in quite some time I use to at least tune in, or listen to highlights if I liked the guest.
His podcast is pretty awesome actually. In the past year I've been listening almost exclusively to his podcasts, going back to the beginning of his Youtube channel (about 7 years ago) and starting from the 1st ever episode. Now I've reached August 2018, and will continue to listen until I reach the end of his Youtube uploads.
Now, I don't actually watch the podcasts, because I'm busy. But while I work I like to have his podcasts play so I can listen to them.
Aside from the fact I enjoy the way he conducts the interviews, I also like how he has a huge variety of guests on. Topics from history to health to exercise to scientology to astrophysics to conspiracy theories to aliens to sex to comedy, everything. The other day I listened to an interview of a guy who was kidnapped by the Somali pirates and spent 2 years as a hostage. There's a bit of everything, it's a good podcast.

But having listened to all of his podcasts starting from the very first one, Joe Rogan doesn't put up with anyone controlling him, and it's not all about the money. He's made that clear and lived up to it for all these years. But now...
You know, had he said he's moving to Spotify and he's gonna make a bajillion dollars but maybe the podcast changes a little bit going forward because contracts and whatnot, I'd be cool with that. All right Joe, you wanna cash out? Cool bro, cash out. You've earned it, cheers. But if you say nothing will change, and then podcasts go missing, and then you start issuing apologies over nothing, then we have a problem.
And I'm not against apologies. But me having titled this thread "rip joe rogan" would warranty more of an apology than what he did. Because one could make the argument that the way I titled this thread caused some of you mini heart attacks. But what he did, nobody was hurt, nobody lost anything, nobody got even stressed out, there's nothing to apologize for, and I'm sure joe rogan knows that.
