I know the main subject of conversations in here is 'money' and methods on how to make money. However, well guys, its Friday evening, and I thought it would be a good time to blow some steam and share some thoughts with the community.

I want to keep this short and meaningful, there's no rocket science here, nor any WSO about how to be happy in life. I just want to say that, yeah, money is important in life, but money is just a means, its not an end. The most important thing to keep in mind is to enjoy the present moment.

You made $200 today? Great, re-invest $50, set aside $50, and take $100 to go and enjoy yourself, pop some champagne, have a massage, go and party, have a nice dinner, go and have fun .. enjoy the present moment. Because there is one thing that money can't buy, and that is youth, and health. Life is short, and the older you get, the more you realise that. Make sure you live it 100%, 240 km/h, do everything you dreamed of when you were a kid... just do it.. that is what making money is about. Don't waste time. Don't bullshit yourself.

"It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness."
    Charles Spurgeon

    Have a great weekend

    Truth talk.

We all know people who have lost their lives early.

We all wait on "our big break" AND THEN we'll do stuff to enjoy ourselves.

Enjoy it now, for tomorrow is never guaranteed.

And for my favorite quote from Kung Fu Panda hahah:

"Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift, that's why they call it the present"

Nicely said so. That's the sole reason why I chose computer science. I enjoy every bit of my life, I really do. I love money, but I am not a money maniac. Your thread is appreciated :)

So true OP. I remember skydiving every weekend in my twenties. Back then it was $125 a jump. Some buddies and I would go up and jump twice every Saturday. It was quite a drive out there and back but I remember telling people I'm doing this because when I get older I probably will have enough sense to not jump out of good running planes.

Now at 50+ I don't have any ambition to skydive although I absolutely loved it at the time.

I know there are a lot of commercials that say the best you can give your child is your time but please don't take those lightly. They are the truth.

When my kids were young, I was a money chasing fool. The kids and I rarely spent time together that didn't involve making money. I have regrets for that. Although they did learn the value of a dollar and both are disciplined and successful by their own rights, I still wish we spent a bit more time just being together. They both begrudged doing trade shows and tagging along to work but we did have fun visiting practically every large theme park in the Country and most many times. My Son and I were absolute roller-coaster junkies.

Spend quality time with your kids while they're young. My kids learned all about chasing that money from me and now rarely call. The song, "Cats in the cradle" is all too real for me.

Not to put a downer on this great thread. Don't get so busy earning a living that you forget to live. There are no do-overs in this life. If you screwed up in the past then do it right in the future. I think I'll take the wife out to dinner. :)

It's not what you have on the outside that makes you happy; it's what you have on the inside.
