Hi, I had exactly the same thing and in addition they then told me I must be enjoying the website since j had read a number of articles so they wanted me to pay to continue to use the site.

So I was left unable to post anything the same as you,
and unable to read anything (having looked at half a dozen articles) unless I upgraded my account and paid them each month.

I deleted my account instead...

is this normal now ? as i have seen in other threads people posting on medium

becomming a paid service like many are soon

there was a rumor that most web 2.0 are going to go private due to spam .

what happens 1 web 2.0 try it and others follow .

looks like medium got the balls to roll out payment it wont be long till they all charge .

I don't have a clue. It was the first time I had used it and prior to me using it, nothing I had read anywhere had mentioned this. I had literally read half a dozen articles and they started blocking me saying I had to pay to use the service. This was after I had loaded an article and fully completed my profile like you

I have no problem paying in principle but I like to know what the terms are before I sign up :)

I am trying to publish content though

I am trying to publish content though
So was I. To get them to publish my content it seemed I had to pay them $5 let month to enable me to use their platform to prove I was engaging with the website so that I could publish my content. :)

maybe all marketers will realise marketing not just fun or free no more hopefully will get good methods on here to stop wasting money .

I think 2020 going to see a lot of charging websites

going to be very hard for begineers with no cash

hmmmm but it's confusing to me tbh... the article is from 2017 - my competitor has posted 2 articles on here just last month... so maybe this trying to charge $5 thing is selective.

https://help.medium.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004545567-Become-a-member?mobile_site=true

2017 was a link to prove it was discussed years ago so was all other webs 2.0

there all charge if medium does well and profit

web 2.0 follow each other in rules

just mean pbn will cost more and marketing backlinks in general will cost more.

apps like gsa, rankerx, scrapebox will cost lot to use for backlinks.

Well the original article in 2017 - I understand and has happened to me.. However, I do not believe every account has to pay $5 to post an article.

This link has no mention though that i must pay $5 to post my article, i have just spent 2 days writing the article... guess i will just have to post my content else where

because its new brand new ...
what to come as standard.

the free account might have fewer features
but eventually, be paid service full on
.they where gong to do it on 2017 so was facebook it always been a rumour.

looks like medium took the plunge

you can use medium and suddenly will ask for membership cash .

there all going to do the same all big websites as 2020 comes wait and see .

medium had the balls to go first,

all marketers new that paid membership threat was there from any website just when...

that how marketing is, here today gone tomorrow.
