Getting super weird result after redirecting old domain to new domain

I've transferred my site from old_domain.com to new-domain.com with ubuntu and nginx being the system.

When I've tied tried to redirect the old domain name to the new domain I'm getting weird results.

Going to the old domain brings up an SSL/HTTPS warning "the site is not safe etc..".. when I click continue then it opens the new website but with the old domain still.

The site itself has been modified for the new domain, so it's going to a homepage with the new logo but the url is the old domain.

If anyone can shed light on this that solves this I'll be super grateful and if you have an ETH wallet I'll shoot you some through as a tip to say a big thanks - this is doing my head in!

You need to explain more information about what you did..

So you have the same VPS but you changed the html content, and now both domain1.com and domain2.com are redirecting to your VPS ip, I'm assuming you changed the nginx server blocks to update for this? Did you update the SSL certs and make ones for the new domain?

Thanks for the reply. I did set up new ssl certs, but I had misaligned them. Hired a sys admin who fixed it within about 45 mins.
