Hello, it seems my computer has been plagued by the google redirect virus could anyone kindly advise how to get rid of it, running spyware doctor but to no resukts yet, is there a quick fix for this?

where do i find the mal soft removal tool please as theres so many fake links out there..

Hey there. I had the same virus this past summer. It's a real pain to remove. After trying everything else without success, I was referred to the Combofix program from the guys at bleepingcomputer.com. Just do a google search for combofix - it should be the first or second result that comes up. Hope this helps you out!

What does this virus do ? Never heard of google redirrect before. Maybe you can check your hosts files. Perhaps something strange is there.

its a real pain -basically it will redirect any link that comes up of a google seach to some random site, almost impossible to get rid off, deletedthe host file but still no change

Have you guys ever heard of Malware Bytes?
Jeez...

Any junior hacker can defeat and get past MB, hahahaha. It is good for blocking many different threats and attacks but once a machine is infected with a deep threat, MB is pretty much of no use.

I can crypt a virus/trojan so it can't be detected by any Antivirus on the marketet,so yes,no one is safe today. But this virus, can be easly removed with MB.So don't make any stupid affirmations,ok?You're not the only one that knows how to use a few public software...

Stupid affirmations???? WOW!

It is a common fact that MB has a problem with rootkits, keyloggers, various Trojans and viruses. Many MB users can tell you about their chagrin once they saw the below pop up after scanning their machine with MB.

As quoted by PCMAG...

Cons

Poor cleanup of rootkits and commercial keyloggers. Must pay for real-time protection. Real-time protection also weak against rootkits and commercial keyloggers.
In summation, trusting MB is like putting your trust in a condom to try and protect yourself from contracting the herpes virus. Like this user found out.

Rogue antivirus security tools will not be removed by Malwarebytes, Help please

Enjoy your day!

If your System Restore is activated, try restarting Windows in Safe Mode and then go to Start>Programs>System Restore> and set it to go back two days ago.

Another thing you might try is to download the fully functional Trial version
of http://www.surfright.nl/en/downloads and run it..

This is what I was going to suggest. Do the above exactly as instructed and I'm 99% sure it'll be gone. Then get Security Essentials.

System restore has never failed me.
