    Hi, I'm Jenny.

I've been perusing the threads here for only a few hours now but I've yet to come upon the exact information I'm searching for so please bear with me.

I want to learn how to get followers for both myself an actual people - I want to be a social media manager for a bit in the industry I am interested in.

A lot of the popular methods for instagram, which is the platform I am trying to get a following on as well as Twitter to a lesser extent, involve joining groups of people here and giving each other likes and follows; others have you use bot programs; and some have you using stolen images to get the follower count up (which is used by the majority just listed or no photos at all)

But what about in the case of say, a young girl, or a charity organization?

I could create content but I am at a loss on how to get it out there. I have selected a niche, as it is related to my industry, but I do not know how to see real growth.

Thank you for your time and if you only need to refer me to a post I obviously missed I would still be ever so thankful.

Oh, I thought it may be redundant since I was posting in the Instagram forum and I was afraid of looking silly!

It's for Instagram and, to a lesser extent, twitter, since gaining followers there seems to be a bit easier for me thus far.

I will edit my topic to include the specific platforms now!

I am aware it is noted as not a good practice to post a lot in your thread - the rules stated they were against thanking repeatedly in multiple posts to inflate post count but I hope me posting more information is not seen as breaking that rule.

My account is aged - the oldest photo was from 2015 but I have deleted them. I did a better job searching the forums and I still haven't found any real advice aside from, "have good content," and "be a girl," haha.

I am trying to work multiple niches, I guess. I am wary of speaking too publicly about it but if need be, I can share.

I am a girl - I'm not anything like a blonde bombshell, though. My look would/does appeal to more females than men (non-sexually) as I look very young, have a questionable race, and have 'cute' features rather than hot ones. With the right clothes and wig, I can look very ~aesthetic

Anyway, I just wanted to give more info that seemed to be needed from checking out proper threads and that I may be hot on the trail to more info.

I see. I was stumbling upon similar information - interacting with others, posting goodncontent similar to the followers of competitors, and things like that. I suppose I just hoped there would be a better method but I feel as long as I'm smart I can get some decent growth. Thank you ☺️

Create good content and provide value to your followers. For great branding and social media advice, look up Gary Vaynerchuk on YouTube and read "Jab jab right hook".

Im in a similar situation then you. What im trying to do now is liking the comments from people, who like profiles of people, that are very similar to me. I look at profiles, that have many more followed then follower. They seem to follow easier.

Oh goodness, thanks so much. I was just trying to think of that book name and I couldn't! I'm grateful. Thank you for the advice and new resource, Gary Vaynerchuk.
The person I quoted has some good advice and resources.

I've been doing the same but I don't bother looking at their following vs follower count just because I'm lazy and I can just unfollow them later on in the week. What kind of content do you post, if I may ask?

    Here is my advice.
Go to Linked In. Find the top people in your niche. They often have social media links in their profiles.
Follow them and target them. I'm talking big-wigs. Many of them have small followings. A few hundred to maybe a 1,000 at most.

Everyone else here is trying to build massive follower #s to get monetization in terms of shout-outs.
But a 100k account who re-use other people's content won't be getting any "influencer" sponsorships where the big money is.
A paid feature is not sponsorship as brands want to deal with an actual face. A real person.

YOu can monetize with a small devout following if you establish yourself as a domain expert in your niche.
That is why I recommended above. If you get all the top power players from linked in, it makes you look like a pro.
I did that with a Design account. I tracked all the top creative directors of top agencies; befriended them on social media.
Then everyone in the industry thought I was somebody important.

OP, don't reinvent the wheel. Post HQ content, make it engaging. Interact/engage with others in your niche (like, comment on their posts).
It's not easy and it's not fast unless you have the backing of big money or top people in your niche. But, if you keep at it, it'll grow and should pay off. Most personal accounts take 1+ years to start gaining traction. Don't want to wait 1 year, so you won't get started? Well? Wait until a year goes by and you'll kick yourself for not having it done NOW!

By the way, don't get distracted or upset if your reach is not as good or as high as the Unicorn accounts here on BHW. Those that reach 100K followers in 1 month, gain 6K in a few days, and charge $500 a post for shouts, and all they have is "borrowed" content. They are called Unicorns for a reason, not the typical, normal account.

Like I heard a wise person say to me more than once - "You do you, boo. Everything else will fall in line."
