Does anyone have experience in registering an .ie domain? The requirments seem to be a little unclear and it seems like it's mostly decided on a case per case basis.
So if anyone has any personal experience with that, i'll be more than happy to hear :)

Yip Irish people are here! To get an Irish domain, you have to submit on irish company letter headed paper what the domain is to be used for, then it is reviewed, and then hopefully approved! Hope this helps.

they still want any of the following:

Registration is restricted to 3 categories of entity:

    (1) Companies registered in Ireland

    (2) Individuals resident in Ireland

    (3) Entities possessing a 'real and substantive connection' with Ireland, for example those that trade in Ireland.

    (4) Entities possessing a registered Irish or European Community trademark

By proceeding, you confirm that you have read the above and will provide any documentation required within twenty seven (27) days. Failure to supply all necessary documentation will result in your order being cancelled and an administration charge, as outlined in the Terms and Conditions, being withheld from any refund due.

I actually have no experience in getting .ie's. They are great when it comes to branding and having memeorable domain names!

    like simplybe.ie.... love that one!

The easiest route ive found is to check its for a personal blog, that way you dont have to send off so much info, just proof that your a resident in Ireland....
