    HI;

    I'm setting up some new sites, it would be very helpful for me to have business listings (from a certain type of business) on the site for SEO.

    I'm trying to figure out how to get a hold of all the nation wide listing for a certain type of business. Just an example of what I would be looking for would be all the listings for all the dentists in the country.

    Thanks
    J

    Hi there,

    Is your site going to be like a directory, and are you looking for business websites to be listed? Maybe you could share more information about what you are doing, and if it all looks good I may be interested in adding my website on there (if it qualifies).

    You could start off by getting a whole lot of business leads (I bet there are quite a few members on here that can provide you some valid leads) and set up an email marketing campaign (with thorough details about what you are offering them, unsubscribe links etc). Of course you will need to format the emails in such a way that they won't be flagged for spam.

    If your sites look legit, and they are going to help increase visibility and even profits for the business, I'm sure they will be interested in adding themselves into your business listings sites. You could even charge them a small fee to get listed, and even have a tiered listing system where you have "basic", "standard", "advanced" and "corporate" listing types with appropriate fees.

    You might also want to do some heavy on-off page SEO work before you do something like this, as some companies could look at how well your site/s rank in serps etc and then use that as a decision maker in whether they will place their site in your business listings.

    Go in downloads section. Its called YellowPagesCrawler. Type in dentist, and you are all set. It scrapes all the yellow pages online, and pulls up an export-able list. Toss it in excel, upload it to direct mail, and you are good to go. Hope that helps.

    That's a good idea, I didn't even think of charging for premium listings. The site is a informational site / Forum & Photo sharing service. So my primary goal is to get traffic to the site and engage visitors.

    I wanted to list the business that are related to my niche in some type of directory / index on my site to help pull in traffic. I don't want to talk about the exact type of site here in a public forum at the moment, but I will use another example that will make it clear, again this isn't what my site is about, but it will illustrate what I am doing:

    Example Site: Forum for Home Improvement / DIY.
    I want to include a directory on the site that has listings for all plumbers, electricians, contractors, etc. So then I would potentially be pulling interested parties onto my site to view the business listing when they search for the business or the type of business.

    The thing is that I would really like to get a hold of all of these these business listings, if I could harvest web site address to go with them that would be great. I don't need to email or contact the businesses. I just want them on my site for the SEO value.

    I've seen lots of business directory sites setup online. They have to be getting or scraping that data from somewhere.

    Any idea how I can go about getting ahold of or where to scrape this data from? Are there any tools that are good at scraping business listings out of G?
