    Hi,

A strange idea crossed my mind :D and now I have a question to you, experienced blackhatters.

When I'm trying to promote a newly built site, does it really matter what kind of link google picks up the first time to index my site? Let's say I have two options to get my site indexed in google: one is to place a link on digg.com and the other is to put a link on a lousy blog with no PR and backlinks whatsoever. So, will it have a different impact on future rankings?

of course the digg link would help the site to be indexed faster because google trusts those type of high PR links more and they are crawled more too by the SE spiders

Backlinks from trusted sites will have more value, so definitely you should choose digg.

I guess I didn't ask my question clearly.

Let's say you have a list of URLs you're going to get back links from for your site. For instance, 20 URL's will be linking your site plus 1 initial link for getting your site indexed. Total 21 backlinks. Now picture, you have three ways to go in terms of getting the first back link, 'cause the rest part of LB will be the same in all cases.

So, here are the first link options:

    Option 1: link from digg.com
    Option 2: link from lousy-blog.blogspot.com - PR0
    Option 3: link from crappysite.co.za

Once your site gets indexed in Google, you put the rest of the links. The only difference in these scenarios is the first step, first link you get. The rest 20 links are the same in all three cases.

So, my question: will the first link have different impact on future rankings in all three cases or not? By saying different impact I mean my site can rank on the first page or will be buried for a long time.

good links at the beginning are always good , then try to mix up the links , google will take some and discard the rest, not worth trying to figure out if he likes them or not just keep building and you will see the advantages, every time google does a reshuffle

I always had a theory that the first 1 - 10 links of any site set the foundation and could have big implications on initial and long term rankings.

Just to add to the above, in my personal experiment sites I bought exactmatch.org and then bookmarked to index are sitting 40-50th for their main keys...

and the exactmatch.org I sent zero links to is on the first page for it`s term - just indexed through google toolbar usage when I was making it.

Similar competition was used to make it more accurate.

Does it mean it's better let a site get indexed first and then start link building?
