The company I work for just paid a guy to remove some negative search results from google. I was skeptical but after about a week all of the negative search results disappeared from the first 13 pages of google. How the hell does he do it?

if it's his own site, maybe using a robots.txt file
it it's someone else's site, either cease and desist legal notice to website owners or dmca request if duplicate content. Most people don't want to deal with the legal headache and will just comply

What about the other sites in the SERPs? Same as before? Maybe he replaced a lot of the old sites with his own web 2.0 props.. Thats how you usually do reputation management..

Why don't you ask that guy instead and let us know how he does that? I am curious as well :)
