I know he is going through a lot and I have sympathy for him, but I have been building up a reselling business for the last year. I have refunded everyone who purchased a monthly plan, I use PayPal and Stripe, Stripe doesn't refund the fee's, so I'm out of pocket there. I have hosting fee's, bucket fee's which aren't cheap. I have had to put my website on hold as you cannot sell out of date plugins and themes and expect returning customers. I have seen posts on FaceBook, calling me a scammer because I delayed refunds (I added extra days to the monthly plans at the start) but then it was obvious it wasn't going to be over quickly, so I started refunding, which took quite a while as I'm disabled (that's why I wanted to start the business).
My business is basically over with no trust left and it will never recover, unlike Festingers, as he still has many loyal customers.
I asked for a refund multiple times and told him I would return as soon as he was sorted out but this was met with the following reply:
