This thread was created due to this thread being created. I have a better method in which was released to me a couple of months ago for a review. Enjoy. I have to edit it from a fucking .PDF to the thread, so please bare with me!

This guide will do the following:

    • [*=center]Allow you to use CUSTOM thumbnails to grab your audience's attention faster!
[*=center]Allow you to have CUSTOM links in your annotations - boosts clicks!

    The Method

This method is all about YouTube annotations, but wait, I'm not talking about the normal YouTube annotations, this time we are going to include links INSIDE our video, can you see how POWERFULL is this?!

Stop asking your visitors to check your video description, you can now add your own links inside your video as an annotation!

This easy and single trick can increase your CTR (Click-Through Rate) up to a 100% or even more.

    What you will need:

    1. A Phone Verified YouTube Account (Important!)
    2. Activate the monetization on your videos (Easy 3 step process)
    3. A website
    4. Verify your URL with Google Webmasters

Okay, now I will show you the step by step tutorial on how to apply this with your own youtube accounts and videos. I will include images so this will be really easy and funny to follow.

Scroll to the next page and let?s start!

    Step by Step Process

First you want to login to your YouTube account. I?ve tried this with a non PVA YouTube account and haven?t succeed so I recommend you use a PVA account for this to work 100%.

Once you are logged in you want to go to settings and then click on monetization under channel settings.

After clicking on the monetization tab you?ll be send to the page and then you must click on ?Enable My Account?

Just see how it?s done in the image below:

A new window will be prompted just make sure you tick all the 3 boxes and press the ?I accept? button. Once you?ve done that you will be sent to your videos and you?ll notice there is a $ sign, that means you have successfully activated the monetization on your account.

Now after activating the monetization you must phone-verify your account if you haven?t done so yet, to do this you go to the ?features? tab inside the channel settings and click on enable unlimited uploads.

After verifying your account, in the same ?features? tab you?ll see that the feature ?External Annotations? status is now green.

This means we can now add links to our annotations!

What's next? Add our website URL and verify it with Google webmasters.

Adding the URL and verifying it:

Inside the channel setting you?ll see that a new section appeared: ?Associated Website?. Click on it, enter your website URL and click on Add.

Once you?ve clicked on Add your website will be pending for verification. We just have to click on verify and it?ll bring us to the google webmaster site in order to verify our website.

After verifying your website with Google webmaster you want to go back to the associated website tab and your website will now be verified.

    **IMPORTANT**

Remember that the website URL you put there is the one and only domain you can use for your annotation links. That means you can use any of this links:

    Yourwebsite.com

    Yourwebsite.com/whatever

But you will not be able to use this link for example:

    Anotherwebsite.com

However you can create a redirect file and upload it to your own domain and doing so your able to link to any website you want, but I highly suggest you link to your website only.

    **IMPORTANT**

Now there is just one step missing, adding the annotation with the website link.

    Adding the annotation:

We are at the last step of this awesome trick, adding the annotations in our video!

Just go ahead and click on edit on one of your videos and click on annotations and you?ll see a big banner at the top asking you to accept the external annotations, click on accept and you are ready to go!

Now you just add an annotation to your video, click on link then select

?Associated Website?, enter your URL (It must be the same that you verified) and you are done!

Now you?ll see how your CTR Skyrocket up to 100%!

    Final Words

I?m glad to see you followed this mini tutorial, now you will enjoy having more clicks that means more traffics that equals to more conversions meaning more money.

Isnt it easier just to put the url to the description? I dont think that i would have more visitors just because i have a link in the annonations too...

You can click the link via the annotation, so the user doesn't have to open the description to get your link. Also the link you leave in the description leaves a footprint. Sneaky, I like this!

Yes, it is much easier - that's why you double up on it! Use the annotation as well as the description.

You can make the annotation even better by making a fixed 'button' on the video, saying something like "Click here to visit my website!" and then add an annotation spotlight linked to it, so it's more appealing than the typical annotation.

Here is one tip from me:
    - create .TK doman
    - add that domain to webmaster tools
    - verify that you own it
    - once verified, and after you add links to your videos as explained add .htaccess redirect wherever you want :)
    Code:
    Options +FollowSymLinks
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule (.*) http://YORDOMAIN.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Nice tutorial, before this method was made so publicly available I've made a few $$$ from it by setting this up for others.

However I have to disagree on this part

You CAN link to more than only one domain from a yt channel.

What exactly are you trying to say? You were always capable of setting the URL of an annotation to a Youtube channel.

Yeah, but you were not always capable of setting a link to an external associated website in the video annotation.
This option is only available since the end of 2012.

Oooh, I see what you are saying now after re-reading it 4 times. o_O Yes, this is true. In fact, I believe you can go up to 10? (There were slots to put individual domains down, I do remember that)

This guide was written towards the end of 2012, so that could explain that. I've just been hoarding it for awhile. ^^

Also, the images don't match, as the interface of Youtube has changed. Although it's not my eBook, I'll probably change them to the most current pictures.

So I currently have 1 domain that I am promoting with multiple videos.
Obviously, to be safe, I am spreading the videos out over a number of phone verified accounts.

I would love to implement this on all of my upcoming videos - but I can I have many accounts with the same verified URL?
Also, if this is allowed - isn't this a huge footprint?

I guess I cannot link subdomains with different webmaster accounts (bla.domain.com and blu.domain.com linked to different google accounts) or am I wrong?

@OP, have you had any problems with redirecting to CPA/PPD links? I mean, if you enable monetization, a staff member will probably review your account in the future and they don't like CPA so maybe they will delete your video.

I have no clue about subdomains, I didn't write this guide - I've only reviewed it. xD

By CPA/PPD links, are you referring to my landing page or the links directly? I've had no problem with landing pages, never tried direct links to host website themselves.

You can turn the monetization of the video off, by clicking on the green dollar sign next to the video, to make it 'gray', which will still allow you to have those linked annotations/thumbnails.
