    Hey Guys,
Recently at SMX, Matt Cutts eluded to Penguin 3.0 coming in the near future. Are you prepared? It is much better to deal with an issue before something happens rather than reacting to a penalty and scrambling to get your rankings back.

We all know that Penguin is going to be focusing on over optimized keywords and spammy sites such as article directories, forum profiles, blog comment spam, etc. This isn't really anything new. But the thing this time is that Google has been VERY busy harvesting TONS of data thanks to the disavow tool and building a huge list of sites that are clearly violating their terms of service since they were designed strictly to manipulate Pagerank and increase rankings. I wanted to give back to the community and share my free Link Removal Guide to help people hopefully avoid being hit by the next update.

I tried to make the guide as helpful and informative as possible. It covers the full process of removing links, performing disavows and reconsideration requests. I even include example outreach emails, example reconsideration requests and an example disavow file for you to download.

Some main topics that I will cover in the guide:

    1. How to identify bad backlink profiles without getting rid of your good links (don't throw the baby out with the bathwater!)
    2. How to remove backlinks and repair link profiles especially while focusing on over optimized keywords
    3. Creating documentation for your reconsideration request
    4. Webmaster outreach templates that are proven to be effective
    5. Performing Link Disavows properly and easily
    6. Recommended services for scalable link removal to save you time and headaches
    7. How to deal with reconsideration requests and example reconsideration templates you can use to expedite the process

I am open to feedback or adding anything that people think would be helpful. I hope that this helps people avoid any penalties or help lift them if you are already hit.

Nice share, pretty much everything someone needs to recover from a penalty.

You might also want to take a look at how to recover from too many g+ as from what I saw lately on the forums this is/will be happening quite frequently. Not sure if there's anything to be done about it, but if you find something I think a lot will be grateful.

Thanks RightInTwo this is a great share.

On similar lines, I just wanted to mention that if people have built mass links using GSA search engine ranker that those links can be removed in the campaign settings. To remove your GSA links just right click on the project, go to Set Status then select Active (Remove Links).

This might not remove all of your links but it should get rid of the majority and will hopefully allow your sites and videos to slip under the radar.

Your welcome! Have you seen any success stories about recovering from G+? This is pretty interesting, might have to add stuff about that down the road.

Just went through it and it definitely has some good info when it comes to getting out of link related penalties...especially Penguin. I've gotten a link penalties on a few of my sites over the years and it would be great if I can reverse them. Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to take this info and do link removal consulting for websites hit with Penguin.

    Thanks for the guide!

I find it really strange how few replys/thanks such threads get. What is wrong with you people... 90%+ of you need this, lmao!

Great info, just read 2 sections so far and have it saved, going to go through it properly later but very detailed stuff so far, n very good of you to release it for free, just be careful and watch out for copycat WSOs where it is pretty much exactly what you have written.

    Great guide and great advice.

I have been able to get penalties removed for quite a number of my affiliate sites that I own and operate. Some had manual penalties while others were hit by Penguin.

In all of the cases the best strategy was finding the bad links and removing them. I used to spend quite a lot on Fiverr for SEO gigs that used to work but now hurt rankings.

It took a while to undo the links but I outsourced that work.

Great guide. Thank you for sharing.

Your welcome! Thank you for your feedback. If you don't mind sharing, what did specifically to get your penalties removed? Anything that I didn't mention?

Thanks for the guide, much appreciated in these days and ages with disavow and the whole link removal process.

In your experience how long does it take to recovery rankings from an algorithm issue?
