Just thought I'd post these links to some good places for keyword research
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
http://www.google.com/trends
http://pulse.ebay.com/
http://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers/zgbs
http://www.wordstream.com/keyword-niche-finder/
http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/
http://www.seomoz.org/popular-searches
http://www.seomoz.org/term-extractor
http://www.semrush.com/
If you want to find out how much money is really being made in a certain keyword niche, try this Google search:
site:flippa.com "verified google analytics" -"no revenue is claimed" keyword
Of course, you replace "keyword" with whatever keyphrase interests you. This searches the Flippa archives, but only returns auctions where the site is actually making money, and where you can download the site's analytics reports. This is great for identifying profitable niches - instead of guessing, you can work out someone else's actual EPC and strategies, steal their keywords and clone their site
