Get Backlinks - These 3 whitehat backlinks = fast success

There's a guy I know with a new .info blog struggling to get listed in the search engines... I think he needs to get backlinks.

Question -- if you could only create 3 backlinks to get featured by either Google, Yahoo! or Bing, which 3 would you choose?

Let me start off this post with a NIFTY tip -- submit your webpage to:
http://simple.wikipedia.org

(Don't submit a webpage with ads just yet... editors HATE commercial sites. I'd wait about a month.)

It's just as powerful as the standard Wikipedia site, but doesn't have nearly the number of editors there.

Okay, back to you... can you give this guy 3 places to get whitehat backlinks to get his site indexed?

Digg, reddit, and stumbleupon are 3 great places to start for backlinks. If the content is good it could really help with your traffic to.

This might not be applicable, but I use automaticbacklinks.com

This REALLY helps if you have at least one domain with PR1 or more.

Why wouldn't that be applicable??? Are you by any chance associated with the website you recommended?
 
3 backlinks, I would choose high pr web 2.0 sites.

But that's living in a fantasy world. You can't rank with 3 backlinks.

OP wants the site to get indexed. And that is possible with links from quality Web2.0 properties like Digg, etc.
 
My bad, I thought he wanted to rank.

If he wants to get indexed then he should do directory submissions.

For starters..the posts title is deceptive and implied you were providing something...when you were just asking a poorly thought out question.
You talk about "struggling to get listed in the search engines" which implies ranking in serps.
Then.."get his site indexed"...which is now talking about indexing..
Indexing and ranking are different okay..:D
And finally..why not just use google and query "how to get a site indexed" or..use the search button here at this fantastic forum and spend 20 minutes doing some basic research..???

Well for sure that i wouldn't use only 3 because it isn't that much....i would choose more than 10....anything that you can find is god....
for my new websites to get indexed fast this is what i do:
- i post a link on one of my websites that is indexed (i use one website just to get other websites indexed) and the next day the site is indexed....
This is what i do for indexing and it is quite quick because i just have to post 1 link on the front page and that is all. For ranking the work that i do i lot more....
 
To get indexed: I like Digg

To rank: 3 links wont do it. Create a net of web2.0 sites, then blast those sites to make them stronger. So you could theoretically do only 3 sites (3 direct backlinks) then make those backlinks really strong. Go fro blogger, hub & wp I guess, but depends on your preference.
 
Hi, I'm the guy who started this thread.

And I think hard and long about starting a post -- so when I've seen a few complain that my title is deceptive, I'd like to respond.

I created that title because I knew after a few days there would be at least 3 nifty ideas... I even gave one -- the one about Simple Wikipedia. That was an AMAZING tip that I gleefully stole from Terry Godier. I'm STUNNED that no one here was blown away by the most excellent tip as one single Simple Wikipedia link I submitted about 3 months ago has more than doubled traffic to my webpage (it was a test... this webpage was up for more than 6 years generating an average of 75 visits... today it averages over 200 visits... the only thing I did was link from Simple Wikipedia).

To be clear, I'm trying to help a new blog just get listed in Google. It's a .info blog, and I've tried to get his blog listed using the advice above in this post without success. It's http://immnow.info

Any more ideas?
 
I have found clipmarks to be very helpful when trying to get a site indexed. After "clipping", you can then send the "clips" to a list of sites.


Also, add the site to your google profile - unless you shy away from google.
 
Build blogs on sites like wordpress and blogger. Update the blogs with new content on a regular basis. Leave your backlink in some of the blogposts.

Ezinearticles and articlesbase will get you indexed as well.
 
The top article sites will work and clipmarks is also very good. You will definitely want to ping the content and submit the feeds to make it happen a little faster. Identi.ca and twitter can also help get you indexed.
 
just register for onlywire.com and then register for all the bookmarking sites and then blast a bookmark of the homepage and in no time you will be in the google.
