I've read a lot about getting links on authority site. There are several threads in the marketplace regarding this. Some of them start at $15 and go up to nearly $1000.

I'm pretty sure these are just links within an article.

What I would like to know, is if I could get an entire article written about my website/article/service. Obviously, the best way to do this is to have a really great site, great product/service, and to either magically have a real journalist contact me...or make a pitch to a real journalist and hope they are interested enough to write an article.

But I would like to know if there's anything more certain/guaranteed? How would I go about doing this? I think this is beyond the realm of paying for high authority links at news sites... this is like real world journalist stuff, which I admit I know nothing about.

I would appreciate any and all advice.

By the way, the topic I have is pretty interesting and would appeal to the general public big time. I just need guaranteed results (like an article on a real authority news site), not submitting an idea to the editor of the website and praying they will be interested. And even if there are, there's no guarantee they would "cite" me or link to my site.

    Thank you :)

If I pitch an idea to a real reporter, there's no guarantee they will like it and no guarantee they will cite me and link to my site. I was hoping to keep more control over the process.

What would be the next best thing, that gives me a little more assurance.

I'm looking for more than just a link on an authority site...

Easy as pie - create an astounding unique product / website / whatever that makes the world a better place or at least makes people feel as if paying for it was a clever investment. Macbooks are a great example for overprized sh*t that many professionals (think about journalists, designers...) consider a basic must-have for their career. Ever tried to seriously research or write academic papers with Pages? Seen Adobe Reader and many other projects on retina displays before the updates? Even if you've been able to somewhat create a good presentation using Keynote, chances are high you forgot about the latest Macbooks having some bullsh*t applespeedportlightningfarawayfromindustrystandardbutsoindividual hubs instead of a suitable slot for that oldfashioned blue colored cable to 99% of humanity connects PCs and beamers since decades?

So actually there're two ways: Save the world and get featured on Oprah and BBC or copycat some evergreen half-legal rogue "marketing strategy" and artificially promote it by hiring indians xrumering the sh*t out of... uhm... Alta Vista.
