You have to be a student and you have to be patient.

Step 1: Create a Digital Ocean Account
First you need to create a Digital Ocean Account. It's simple, you'll need to provide some sort of payment info (a PayPal account will do) but you won't be charged unless you run out of the $10 referral credit. If you want, you can use my referral link: https://www.digitalocean.com/?refcode=cc7e3f8926fd if you use my referral link you also get $10 in credit.

Step 2: Apply for the GitHub Student Pack The GitHub student pack is a thing GitHub offers to students. I don't think you need to be in the US to get it, but I can't remember. In the pack is $100 Digital Ocean credit You'll need to fill out a form and you'll need to authenticate with a school email address. You can learn more about that here: https://education.github.com/pack. The pack does take time to get approved. Mine took about a month, thankfully you get $10 credit when opening an account with a referral link. That credit can buy you a VPN for 1 or 2 months.

Step 3: Set up a VPN
Once you have the $10 or $100 credit, all you need to do is start a new Debian server (or "droplet"). Then you just have to run this command in SSH:
    wget http://git.io/vpn --no-check-certificate -O openvpn-install.sh; chmod +x openvpn-install.sh; ./openvpn-install.sh
And that should set it up! I hope this helps someone!
