    Hey, guys!

I just read a post today, and it said:

The art of good, white hat search engine optimization has been adopted a little slower in Germany in comparison to other countries. So on the positive side, your ability to execute campaigns by following the rules will get you long-term benefits.

On the negative side, because a lot of black hat SEO practices are deployed over there, you may find your competitors getting pretty ruthless. The mentality is that search optimization is more manipulation than it is an art or a science. Stick to your guns, compete with them on quality and content, have a little patience, and eventually you'll find that it's one of the best markets in Europe.

So I got a messages from it: German SEO needs longer time to make effect show on a website, isn't it? And it still works for the german sites?

This post was written in 2010, and about the original post, you can visit search engine watch and search this post. Sorry, I am not allowed to add a link.

By the way, we have English, Japanese, French and German sites, and also doing SEO work for them. And English, Japanese and French sites's traffic get a big rise in 6 months, but this doesn't work for German site. So I really want to know whether it is result from this reason - it needs longer time to make effect show on site. Thank you very much!

I think Google is the same everywhere pretty much now. Same algorithm. Competition level may differ and German links are hard to get, but no difference otherwise I know of.

If you get high quality German links and have good content you should be fine. Just be patient.

it is very hard to get good german backlinks, germans are very greedy on offering links. Also it is much more expensive to get good german content, such as Infograph and Videos for a good price.

I have some sites in germany, so i ranking very high an i do not know why, they do not have the best content and not a good link profile, others are made with great content and some good backlinks and i do not get any rankings after 2 years .

Hey, ThopHayt! thank you for your answer! We are trying to write high-quality content, and do some links, like Ask & Answers, and some forums posts, and try to not spam when creating links to sites. And we will watch our site for a while, and if its rank or traffic is not ideal, maybe we will make some changes. Anyway, thank you!

Hey, Djalminha! Thank you for your answer! Because you mentioned that you have several German sites, and they ranks well, I want to ask you several questions.

    1. What kind of links you have done for these sites?

    2. I read some posts about german SEO link building, these posts recommend to create high-quality Category links, and say it is still useful links for SEO. Is it true? Should I create Category links?

    Thank you in advance!

I would love to give you an answer on that, but i cant. I have a website with medium content, maybe 15 Backlinks ranking for 2 " Hard" Keywords with about 20000 monthly searches, and i cant tell you how this can happen . ..

I have bigger and smaller websites, acording on page seo good well made, good backlinks, high quality content ranking nowhere.

Anyway, thank you for your reply! Maybe the only thing I can do is creating high-quality content, doing well on-page optimization, and trying to add some good links to my site. Thank you again, and wish you a nice day!

See when it comes to other languages I wonder how google ranks cross platforms and countries. Sometimes mixed results do show up for the US, so I am guessing other countries as well.

Nop! Google is the same for any Country. Which mean, this still depends on your competitors of course... in Germany the same keyword can be more competitive than in Other Country for example Poland... and this is the only reason why you can't see any quick serp movements.

I've noticed that in European countries you're way less likely to get slapped. We've got some ridiculous spam going on in Estonia, for years. No one's getting penalized..
