You can sell through social media, you can rank your site on google. BTW can i see samples of your paintings?
Social media, especially facebook fan pages could be a good way for your to showcase your portfolio.
Do SEO to your site. Run ads campaign in social media sites or Search engine. Create account in instagram and share your painting pics.
Painters, or artist in general, often use specialized social networks, such as deviantArt or Behance. But Pinterest can work well too...
On the other hand, I believe it is very difficult to sell paintings nowadays, lot of competition, lot of cheap crap as well, and you name it. . . .
But as with any other product, it's all about having targeted traffic to your website. With 10 visitors a day, you will surely sell nothing. Try to look around the forum to understand more about keyword research, and methods of ranking your site. That you should be the first step. Second one is taking action.
You can get targeted traffic from YouTube!
As there's not much competition in your niche; buying high retention views and subscribes to your video will rank your video easily on YouTube!
I'd suggest to focus on doing exhibitions as well in order to get your name out there, you can make many new contacts and stuff will sell pretty good on exhibitions.
can i see some samples of your paintings
Try selling your paintings on platforms like Etsy. Here are some sample listings
Also check these sites and try promoting your art if they have section for paintings
Thank you all!!! ;-)
I work with a contemporary artist and I just helped him sell a very large piece he made for $8,000. It was a unique piece and we sold it in London. It's important to sell yourself first, paintings second. I can help you, pm me
If your site has a blog, treat it like a journal. Write something on a daily basis - long or short, doesn't matter. You want people to follow your story and get a glimpse on what's on your mind - the inspiration for your paintings, the story behind your works of art.
Write about your latest works, your latest exhibition, your latest trip, your work in progress, etc. As long as it's related to what you are doing, WRITE IT ON YOUR BLOG AND DON'T FORGET TO TAKE PICTURES.
After you write a blog post, share it on your social media platforms - fb, twitter, instagram, pinterest, etc.
If you can't be your own publicist, hire one to make your name your own brand.
I hope this helps.
