Generating Traffic ???

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, mods feel free to move it.

My question is this, I been doing some stuffing in various places and it occured to me that maybe the same techniques could be used to generate phony traffic to a site, i.e. posting a picture and doing a redirect.

Does anyone know if this would show up as traffic or is this a waste of time, I tried it yesterday but the results were inconclusive.

My thoughts are, if I bolster a sites traffic I could then sell it on DP, any thoughts?
