Hi, there probably are people who didn’t know that I love Xbox games. I will probably be moving to Scarlett once Microsoft releases it ...

Anyway, just started a new xbox gaming blog. I will not tell you its URL but you probably already know it ... xD

Idea is to blog everyday, write daily progress, reviews, etc ...

Goal: $10K/month by 31 of December 2021.

Traffic: SEO, Social Media, Email Marketing, Blogger Outreach (this will be done mainly to get traffic but it will certainly help SEO too).

Monetisation: banner ads, reskin, affiliate (games sold and pre-orders), sponsored posts/ads, social media ads, free games (won’t be added to the revenue but certainly help to reduce costs).

I don’t plan YouTube at this time but I might consider it later.

What I have so far? 501 follower on IG, 1 follower on FB, 2 daily visitors, 3 blog posts, $500 / mo investment for various games and marketing.

Thanks and wish me luck!

Don.

Content is evolving and images/video is more preferred in the gaming niche, i'd highly suggest spending more time and effort into a facebook page or instagram page you would get a much faster reaction and a following as well. I've tried it a couple of times, lots of kids there waiting to get on board.

Yes, just set up Facebook ad camapign to get more fans at £1/day. Should get 3000-8000 daily impressions to my FB page. Will see how it converts into fans and then how they convert into visitors and buyers :)

Also, IG is nor as useful as it used to be. I remember I would add some hashtags and would get 30-50 likes and some followers ... but now ... under 20 likes :(

I won't check your signature to make no one see it.:(

If you want to guest post on another blog that is highly valued in the xbox world, let me know and I can set you up with the person in charge over there.
This is a site that has been an authority in gaming since 2007. You could write for them and pop a link back to your site.

PM me and I'll connect you.

Whats your SEO plan for this Blog ..

I think that if you will be playing some online multiplayer games, starting a "clan" of sorts would be good publicity.

Sounds great, will PM you soon! Thanks!

Interesting project - good luck.
What games do you play?

Thanks! I prefer open world and RPG. Shooting is fine. My 2 favourite games are Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and GTA V. Right now I am playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Will try Sniper Ghist Warrior Contracts, Terminator Resistance, DBZ Kakarot, etc ...

Whats your SEO plan for this Blog ..

Daily blogging (like daily vlogs but blogs instead), long form posts (game reviews that are 4,000+ words long, top 10s, achievement guides, etc ...), blogging on other gaming blogs/blogger outreach, signature links, PBNs, etc ...

Yeah I konda hate those games ... like Fortnite, Apex Legends, etc ...

so spent £1 on Facebook ads and got 2 likes. One of them is clearly a gamer ... will try to add gaming memes as ad image instead.

IG followers: 520+
Got 30+ visitors yesterday ... probably because of this thread ... or, perhaps, people saw my ad on FB, checked out profile and followed the link? Will look into my Analytics later.

Thanks!

Blogging is dead.. better off creating a YouTube channel. People wanna watch videos, not read.

Always fun to run a blog with some interest that you actually like!

I used to be really into xbox live back when the original xbox came out. Halo 2 was not like nothing else back then. Played a little bit on the 360, but at that point my life got rather busy. Haven't played video games since.

Good luck man, I will be following.

Make sure to get lots of youtubers to talk about your blog and to link it. Easy traffic

For me I think the content (if I clicked the right url) is missing more images.

I like the camera phone to capture the TV shot? BUT I don't think it does any of the games justice. I think there is a place for it just not sure where and how to use it to great effect maybe some kind of TV&Captured image combo?

I think if you go to that level of hooking something up just having say small clips of play like 10-15seconds to back up what your writing will make you a little different to everyone else.

Ditch the ADMIN for posts to a name. Get your bio filled out as well with its own social media at least this way you can keep blog and personal thoughts separate while giving you another account to RT your own posts...

I eat shit while playing games maybe a nice twist with a post is to do some kind of snack companion for games - this opens you up to different ways to advertise, affiliates, amazon links etc. Also just think it's all different.

Maybe something to consider as well is doing posts on maintaining xbox, cleaning it. Wipes for cleaning the TV just some different angles I think being a gaming blog is serious hard work so being a little unique and different is going to help. If nothing else it breaks up the bulk same game posting..

Also is about me about you or the blog or are they one and the same? Maybe it would be better to have an about section for the blog and then an about me author bio get some photos of you wearing headsets, sat on the sofa playing or doing something just gives you a bit more weight to what you are offering.

At the moment you are doing Breakpoint reviews you are missing a custom banner graphic that you should make for all games have a mix of 2 and add them to the bottom of every post. So the banner is game specific with a link to that game.

Image posts or at least the feature image thumbnail should have that little logo you got in the corner it keeps the branding and ditch that zoom effect it does nothing but annoy the crap out of me and is more JS/CSS bloat you don't need - more so when you add more posts.

Just my 2p

Id give you more ideas but I own a playstation ;)
