They are probably not the ones buying them, its the marketers at the studio companies that are most likely purchasing them.
It'd be really funny if someone selling fake followers on fiverr put in the gig that they supplied for these celebrities and Mitt Romney haha
lol, even youtube, facebook, and Obama too? I started doubting the infographic's authenticity
How do they know for example that they have "fake" followers, I don't really get it..
They have created some algorithm which analyzes all followers. This algorithm is said to be able to determine between fake account or real account. If their shit works is another question.
There is this tool which I posted a while ago can show you how many fake followers you have.. http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...es/471638-twitter-fake-follower-detector.html
Wow, this has got to be the worst kind of 'journalism' to exist. Apparently the concept of 'bots' is completely invisible to these people.
The reason why bots follow Biebz and Gaga is because they have a high subscription rate, if you followed and unfollowed Lady Gaga every 5 minutes for two days, you'll get new followers. I hate that in this day and age of the internet you can put anything into an infographic and it is taken as fact. Somehow, they correlate the business of fake twitter profiles with high volume bot accounts. It never occurs to these monkeys that obviously every bot will follow the most followed twitter accounts, it's the easiest way to accrue traffic volume.
dubious is right.
I get the feeling that this article is more about hatred of pop music than it is about logic. I mean, for fucks sake, 8 million real twitter followers is proof enough that someone gets more attention than they deserve, you don't need to go the extra mile and try to prove they inflated their rep.
Also the tool they are using to check the followers is not even working well. It takes a sample size, it doesnt check all followers. People are just not knowledgeable enough to talk about this subject. They should just stop
