G1 or IPhone

What do you guys think? My contract is up soon and I am due for a new phone. I was thinking about the Tmobile G1 or getting an unlocked IPhone, 1st generation probably. Any thoughts, suggestions or experiences?

The iPhone is where it's all at.. well at least the iPhone has all the killer apps. But it's AT&T only so that's the bad thing about it (I think it can be unlocked). The G1 is only T-Mobile and I heard it can't be used with other carriers. So it all depends on whichever service you like.

But if you are basing it on software or gaming then the iPhone is the best. It has a lot of great apps for it.

i have both of these phones, although i do love my iphone and have had it since its release last year, the g1 has a really nice platform (android) i have really not played with my G1 enough to say its better then the iphone. My iphone does not get good signal and the g1 does. I will leave a better review for you soon. need to play with it some more.

oh sorry, I am with Tmobile and plan to stay with them. The Iphone would be unlocked.

they tested a G1 vs an iPhone recently, the G1 was actually about 8 seconds faster loading google.

aka if you want speed, G1 is much faster

I'm using iphone, coolest phone ever in the planet for the moment. G1 is new, but I still not heard any good comment on this yet. I love iphone and i cant live without it.

It depends what you want really.

The phone part of the Iphone is lackluster, but there is nothing else that can compare with it for web browsing.

Im huge into customizations, which the Iphone once again prevails at due to the huge community following. Im sure that G1 will get to that point, but it could be a year or more away until developers really start pouring out apps for it, if ever.

8 Seconds faster loading Google? That really depends where you are. If you are a student, WIFI is everywhere and both will be equally as fast. If you have AT&T the 3G is very quick, it takes me 2-3 seconds to load google and about 4-5 seconds to make a search. There is no way that the G1 is 8 seconds faster when it doesn't even take 8 seconds to load. Also, AT&T just opened free WIFI to all users with the iphone, at a good amount of stores across the nation. I have not yet used the G1, so I can't say much about it.
