I'm not a very technical person. And tbo I've never fully understood the meaning of "personalized results". I always thought personalized results just mean:

    1) When you're signed into your gmail.
    2) When you don't clear cookies and Google shows websites you've already visited.

But I've never understood if Google can "attach" personalized results to any other information. Even if you're using incognito and not signed into anything.

The reason I ask is these last few days Serpfox has showed a drop of 4 of our primary 10 keywords that are crushing it right now in G Local.

    So naturally I get paranoid.

I open up incognito, search all the keywords, and see that none have dropped. I also notice a few keywords in the top 5 are ranking better than Serpfox says.
So then I plugged in 2 private local proxies, checked other areas and we're performing fairly well there too. I don't consistently track these other areas. I just type in a bunch of keywords and if I see us on page 1 for most keywords I'm happy.

My question is this though. And I'm aware how dumb this may sound. But if I visit my website like 4 times in a week, then open up incognito to manually validate / unvalidate rankings from Serpfox..... is there ANYWAY, other than location, that Google can personalize my results? Like can Google say, "this IP visited x site 4 times in the last 7 days so lets show that site" even if I'm searching in incognito?

I'm assuming no but I just wanna be sure.

    Thank you.

I don't think so. If you're blocking already-set cookies from being read (as incognito presumably does) then you're a virgin user for that search term as far as G is concerned...

I too see differences in search results based on physical location - but if you're in the same location as your target rank, which I assume you are, then I would believe your own results above a serp tracker that searches from somewhere unrelated.

Incognito should not give personalized results, that is, if it does what it claims.

I don't think that is possible. After all you are using incognito and incognito blocks cookies.
