I was doing an assignment for e-commerce in college and my I.T. teacher started a conversation about search engines. We talked about how businesses got traffic coming in via PPC and then the conversation turned to Adsense. I told my teacher about how I made $120 on my site using Adsense when I ranked for a small niche site.

He then told me a story about another teacher he used to work with at another college. He said that the other teacher (female) made a simple one page site with one article about a disease. Completely random article. She stuck on Adsense ads on it.

Funny part: She then told her class to do an assignment which was to go on her website and click the ads. loooool.

Needless to say she made $3,000 that month alone and received a check. Her account got banned soon after.

Just thought I'd share it as I found it quite funny.

She sounds like your average trying-to-be-a-smartass-but-doesn't-have-the-potential type of person. At least get some traffic flowing, damn. Maybe she didn't even cash out the check on time before she got banned. Not to mention she got her account banned, took advantage of her position for her own financial gain and publicly admitted to doing something against Google's terms (and I assume illegal) and should be persecuted.

3K? Her class must be like 1500 pupils if she's lucky enough to have 2$ clicks on a brand new site. Is she teaching somewhere in North Korea, I guess they have that huge classes there?
If they clicked the same ads from the same IP more than once, there would be a ton of invalid clicks.

She resides in the UK. She teaches 6 classes of 300 at a University in England. So around 1800 students.

Very wise words

If I were you, I would question the veracity of this story (or at least the part about her receiving the check). Adsense reviews your clicks for evidence of click fraud before sending out their checks. If all or most of her students were clicking on every and any ad, this would be blatant click fraud and would result in the fastest ban you've ever seen in your life. This is why you often hear about Adsense publishers claiming to have been banned before they had received their checks.

Regardless, that's still a funny assignment, although she probably didn't receive the check.

Probably a trying to act cool lie. 3 grand in 30 days off 30 people max! Did they click it 60 times each?

My brother got banned from adsense before getting a check from them after telling me and his friends to click on the ads lol.

just a quick question is this an actuall true story or just smething u have in your head that u think will make people in here wow u? cox sounds like a joke to me

I think your teacher is a story teller who likes to bend the truth, a bit like CEOSam.

The teacher was real OG, she would have got the students to write a 1 000 word article about the disease and stuck it on her website.

This^

The current story is just your current teacher telling a bs story to one up your own story.

And none of those 1800 hormone driven teens/young adults wasn't pissed over a bad grade or just plain mean enough to report her to adsense with a 10 minute search for a report form on google.

lol what was the CPC on those ads?
Even if she got 120 students in her class, that would have been like $25 per click. I'm guessing this lasted a few days.
