Funneling All Link Juice to the Homepage

I have an expired domain where 70% of the joocy links are pointing to what was a subdirectory (domain.com/fr)

The other 30% of the links are pointing to the root (domain.com).

What is the best way to get all the link juice to just the homepage?

Should I install wordpress on a sub directory (domain.com/fr) and 301 the root to it (if thats even possible)? Or should I install the site on the root (domain.com) and then create the subdirectory (domain.com/fr) and 301 it to the root (domain.com)?

Install wordpress on domain.com
Create a page -> domain.com/fr and set it as your static homepage.
So, domain.com/fr will be rediected to domain.com with all it's backlink.

Will that work or I misunderstood the whole think !

Pretty sure you can just 301 the subdirectory to your homepage. A plugin called linkjuicekeeper I use, it 301's everything to the homepage

Just 301 to the homepage in .htaccess

Create a page, use Simple 301 to send it to the home page
