While searching for a few days for a fully niche specific and High authority expired domain. I found a domain today with DA 27 and backlinks from huffingtonpost, wikipedia, nydailynews, elle, newsweek etc and Spam score of ZERO and priced at $300.

I have planned to use it as a niche specific blog with fresh and unique content daily.

but the problem is the domain has been expired from at least 7years and it was last active in 2012.

My question is, Can I go for it? Is it worthy buying this domain for $300?Will it help in my rankings in future?

Look at the history in archive.org. If it's good it would be worth the price. The links will help you.

I would consider how much $300 is in terms of your overall budget for this project. If you can afford it then the backlinks will surely help but if you have no working capital left over then you can't take advantage of them.

I have the working capital to further strengthen my work. I also have found another same niche domain worth $900. This domain is having a DA of 41 and has lots of authority links compared to the $300 domain. But this domain has been used for a year for 301 redirects to a same niche website. Later it was used as some random blog like(viral blog) before expiring.

My question is, Will these premium domains certainly help to get an edge over my competitors if I provide better content. My competitor's websites are of low DA and mostly 6months to 2 years old but they rank well and are getting huge traffic.

I don't want to regret spending $900 on a domain and later finding it's not helping in my rankings.

If the domain isn't previously penalized then it would be a good buy for you. Put it to good use. Goodluck!

its not a problem that it was sitting for 7 years. The other day was checking some guest posts opportunity and saw a domain with 2011 in the name, went parking page around 2013, that was reused this year and ranked pretty damn crazy (50k+ traffic in wedding niche). If I where you however would stay away from the reused domain, at least not for $900. Ask the seller to drop the price as the domain is not "clean" and try to get it cheaper - like 50% down.

I'd suggest you to wait for some time (30 to 60 day) and let it drop, once it's dropped you can buy it for regular price..... keep monitoring it on regular basis.

7 years unused period is not an issue as long as it's not penalized.

Yeah good luck with waiting for domain worth $300-900 to drop.

It looks good, but do you have a defined plan for that domain?

Its a premium domain, How can i check when it will be dropping. I have checked the domain in Google search and the root domain is found to be indexed.

The plan is the niche i am targeting is really big and the competition in my country is really low. it's like most domains with 15 to 20 DA have huge traffic.
Now I will be investing $2000 for the next 6 months on this project and it will include the salary of the content writer and cost link building. The aim is to write better content, do better on-page SEO and page speed and way better link profile than my competitors. And see if i can achieve some positive result in the next six months.
