    Hi,

Today i started thinking about what life would be like if i started IMing full time,

What would you do other than IMing ? would just set in from of the computer the whole day and take vacations from time to time and do some sports and thats it ?

I'm really confused about the idea of doing IM full time, really, what about your social life ? in offline jobs at least you get to meet people daily and build real life relationships but online you don't .

How would you maintain a healthy social life while working full time online ?

    Thnx

Who says people do maintain a healthy social life?
But I guess that for some people, IM as a main income source works really well once you find something that works. Imagine the people with loads of micro niche sites set up that just roll in 500$ per day sitting on their butt? All they'd have to do is outsource some stuff, which might take an hour or two.. Then they could spend the rest of the day with friends and such. I imagine that's how it works for some of the big guys.

My hobby is IM. Very easy to get addicted to it. I love IM. Extremely addicted. Sometimes it's hard to pull myself out to do other things. IM it's like an online video game, role playing game, I get so addicted to it.

Luckily everything happened is very very very REAL. Whatever one achieve is REAL and can be materialized. I get real $$$$. Not some unless WOW gold or game points. :)

oh boy...time to back to reality and have some social life :)

If anything, IM give more time to have a social life than a regular job does. A lot of it is automated for many people.

I agree with you. Usually there is a lot of work to put in at the beginning, but after you have some websites with advertisements on it, you start gathering money, with little work needed. Obviously that is in the ideal situation, but how is working full timt doing Internet Marketing any different than working a full time job anywhere? You just have to balance your time between friends, family and work.

One of the hardest things about doing this for me is that none of the friends I have do what I do so they never have the time to hang out since they work at their real jobs full time and then complain how tired they get after working and how they need to wake up at 6 in the morning blah blah blah so they don't wanna do anything.

It kinda sucks. I need to find more friends who are not tied down at their 9-5's.

Unfortunately, there are not many around where I am at the moment..

I make time to chill and have fun with friends. I wake up at like 10am. Go for a skate, swim in the beach. Eat, do some work. My girl friend comes over we chill. Then I do some more work and sleep lol. And in the weekends I always make sure I have a night out drinkin :D

You could always get a part time bar job, that way you're forced to leave the house, and be thrown into a social environment and also bar staff are always very social so you'll have an automatic friend base.

Its a job its not your life.

I live at the beach, I check stuff when I wake up with breakfast and work as needed throughout the week but mostly I just get out and chill with people.

well, it seems i misunderstood you till now
so you're afraid of the more free time you'll have if you do IM than if you do a 9-5 job? then, i can't really help you, you are unwarrantable :p

but hey, if you're having a 9-5 job, you're having your social life with your colleagues, i don't think so

i guess you have friends already, the only problem is with them, what Moto801 said, they're always tired, they have to get up early and the usual stuff at least on weekdays

so yes, it can be boring if you do IM and having a lot of free time and you have nothing to do

take long walks, do exercise, go out, find yourself a girl, find yourself another, spend your money like there's no tomorrow, travel, enjoy your life - that's all i can say

there are so many things to do with free time. If you're a pro and you start raking in millions, or even hundreds of thousands there is no telling what you can do. Take a permanent vacation. Meet new people, do whatever it is you want to do with your life! The whole point of working on your own time is so that you HAVE time to enjoy the things that most people miss out on because they are too busy working for money... so they can do the things they like... If you can't think of things to do with your free time due to having too much of it then maybe full time IM is not for you.

Plan and organize time accordingly, simple as that.

I have one of those bigass calenders that I use and I put what my general plan is usually a week or two ahead of time + any other special events. It works :)
