This is an fantastic share.

My problem is how to get the snowball rolling. Even if you have a video which high watchtime, good series and good clickbait, where can I share it to get "starting traffic"?

Hey OP. Great advice. I clicked your signature to your website and I'm trying to get my head around how your service works. Does one give you a niche and you find out what trend pertaining to it one should make a video about? Sorry to be a dumb arse lol.

Good information you got here. Perhaps I would also look into creating videos around a niche that remains popular over time, and rank your video on keywords with 1k+/mo. searches. This means your video and channel accumulates more organic traffic over time, without having to do any heavy lifting.

That's just my two cents. And yes, a lot of YouTubers are successful by following these two (broad) topics:
  1. Getting people to click on your video (result), typically with an impressive thumbnail.
  2. Keep people watching (retention rate), this is really important these days.
At the end, if you provide valuable and genuine content, that keeps people on YouTube's platform for longer, YouTube will help you promote/recommend your videos.

The crucial is maintaining a good content and ofc the consistency. Creativity and Innovation also plays an important role. I guess these are the foundations of gaining more views.
