Yep! One of my business partners just got a Mac and he loves it.
He got tired of the viruses, crashes, and malware so he switched over.

I have a mac, too- I like it much better-- never crashed. I wanted a machine dedicated to running BH processes like TubeIncreaser and the like.

I would gladly use Linux, but how do you run Windows programs on it? Like TubeIncreaser for example?

    KW = keyword

    w.i.n.e. runs win programs.

if you got a mac, then you don't need lin!

But I want a stable system other than the Mac to run memory hogging things.

Thanks for the tip... I think I'm going to make the switch to Linux.. should I begin with pclinuxos?

you can partition your drive and have both win and lin on it at the same time.
when the comp. boots up, you get a screen asking which os you want to run.

funny thing about pclin... most people try it, and then try other distros.
and then come back to pclin! :D :D :D

i've tried ubuntu and suse... and went back to pclin in four days.
note: you can run lin from the cd without having to install it. try before you "buy"
so to speak. you can order a disk from this place: http://on-disk.com

that's where i got mine from the first time. now i just grab them via a torrent and
    burn my own discs.

I could partition, but I want to be able to have one machine running memory hogging processes so I can use the other one for other things I have to do. That rules out running Windows at the same time as MacOSX, too.

    What should I get:

    PCLinuxOS 2007
    PCLinuxOS 2007-2009
    PCLinuxOS 2008 GNOME
    PCLinuxOS p.93 legacy repository

    I'll just download the image.

pclos 2007 is the last stable version. 2007-2009 is beta and won't be ready for months.

p.s. don't touch anything that uses gnome, it will make you rush back to windows!
always go for 'kde' based distros, since they give you full control over your pc.

gnome is good if you're really lazy and don't want to do too much.
