I mistakenly read the title as "Fuck you Daddy" :D

It's nothing new; they've been doing this for ages and will continue to do so. It's part of their business model.

Rule number 1 when domaining is don't use Godaddy for checking of availability. Use a tool that does not send the domain to anyone but the whois server. There aren't a ton of these and I don't know if any are free but if you're looking to work with domains don't go to godaddy.

This has been going on for so many years.
